View Full Version : Build me a box...

Will someone PLEASE design me a box, for two Kicker cvr 15's.

I'd like to go ported.

No wider than 36"

No taller than 17"

Limit on depth is 24"

Tune to around 34 hz.

Thanks.

You should have went with 12s. You have 6 cubes GROSS available which means only about 4 cubes net if you get any decent amount of port area. That is no where near enough room for two of those 15s. I won't design something that I think won't sound great.

Sealed would work decently with 3 cubes each but I don't think two cubes each ported would sound decent at all. I can crank something out but I wouldn't suggest using it.

Ouch. Well the biggest thing is height, and width....

Other than that......go all out

I had all the panel pieces set out but I accidently closed it without saving and just made this instead. I'm no artist and I don't have any pretty programs so mspaint will have to do. It's 8 cubes net tuned to 34 with 124 in^2 of port area:

It should work alright. What kind of vehicle is it going in? If you have any panel dimension questions, ask me. They should all be pretty visible.

I recommend really getting your brace on. I left about .15 cubic feet for some dowel rods or other bracing. It really shouldn't affect tuning at all.

Mobeious Made a thread for this.

I know, but I wanted to start fresh, so others would see right away.

Thanks bro, I appreciate you making that for me. Looks pretty nice. Also, it's going into a Park Avenue.

You think internal bracing is going to be necessary?

any time you have a panel with a dimension greater than 12", you need some form of bracing

my general rule, at least

You think internal bracing is going to be necessary?

Yes. You really need bracing and I left a good amount of airspace for some bracing using wooden dowels.

Just curious, but why are the cut out holes off set so far to the left?

It's best for air flow. It won't matter too much because there won't be much room. That mspaint sketch is not to scale at all. Think about it... those cutouts are almost 14" in diameter which means that there will be a bare minimum of 28" taken up across the front baffle. After the outside ring, there will only be about 4" total space. I would really suggest mounting them with 1" on each side and 2" between them.
