this is another box i designed that i plan on building. i also talked to 80 inches about putting together a bandpass. and i also plan on building a box to dd specs. i hope to have each of them metered to see what is the loudest. and ill keep whichever i like most.

Specs on each of the boxes? Volume and tuning freq + port area por favor.

There appear to be some heinous panel alignment issues on that box, so please prove me wrong.

is it glued?

Doesn't appear to be glued yet, but I'd imagine PV is talking about the height of the panels from one to the next

Not level floor?

Probably what it is.

more than satisfied with how everything came out. i used two older left over mdf sheets which causes some problems for me. but not too concerned because like i said im doin a few more boxes. whichever i like the most will be redone with something lighter than mdf.

panels were all the same hieght. some were just leaning to keep them standing up.

Is that going to be a tapered transmission line? I can't tell from your ghetto dry fit or from the angle of the sketch. The height of that back piece looks really off. I hope you plan on doing something about that.

If that's a tapered TL, what is it tuned to? The line doesn't look very long, maybe 2.5 meters. That's a tune close to 34hz if I am assuming correctly...

EDIT: New pictures make it appear to be non tapered and the length looks shorter than what I estimated. Let us know how it sounds.

panel height looked off because some of the pieces were leaning to keep them standing up. according to ttb its a tline/bassreflex the length of the line goin down the center would be about 60 inches. i have no clues what that puts the tuning at.

I built a similiar box designed by them for a dayton titanic 10, it had a compression chamber designed into the line/box though. It sounded awesome, got down super low for a 10 but still played nice and tight up top.

yeah im really curious to see this boxes output. and see how it compares to the others i have planned. but not too sure on how soon im gettin the subs.

Hopefully you get some good results. It may have been because of the compression chamber but that 10 was very well controlled in that box, it easily could have taken alot more than its rated power mechanically.

That puts the tuning around 60hz if it was a true TL. It doesn't appear to be so because of the front chamber being wider than the actual line. It looks like a pressure chamber before the line which will have an affect on the actual tuning frequency. So really, I don't know either.

I would assume that as you go below the transmission line's tuning, the line would act more like a port and you would have them in more of a lower tuned enclosure. That's probably why he called it a bass reflex/TL enclosure.

yes, well im hoping it has noticably more output than a normal low tuned ported box. do you know what a bass reflex box is, or how its design is used here.

Bass reflex is just a ported box if I'm not mistaken.

And I think what is trying to be attained here is when you adjust the volume of a port and therefore the length of the port in a bass reflex box you can get the length to match that of a transmission line, which could give you better control over the woofer.

All just guesses here though...I'm a dumb bastard when it comes to enclosures.
