I'm looking for something clear, clean, lifelike, smooth vocals, not too bright, and definately not harsh. I had been settled on either the CMX265 or OZ 180's but am open to any sugestions.

I heard it on a soundboard (not the best place for listening) and thought they were horribly thin and shrill.

they are hallow, I would go focal k2p, in your price range.. great driver despite what 17yr old punk kids say.

I'm certainly not a 17-year-old punk, but if he's looking for smooth vocals and highs that aren't harsh, Focal is probably not the place to look. At the least, you should do a quite a bit of listening as Focals aren't a good fit for everyone.

I, for one, find them insufferably bright.

Oz might be a very good choice, I think. That's what I'd do.

Tweeters are rainbow cal25's ( silk and aluminum options) and a alumapro metal coned mid with copper cap on the pole piece. Xover allows for dual midbass install as well. **** nice set for the money IMO.
