well my bookshelf speakers are being moved to the left/right rear speakers and i'm putting these babies up front as my front left/right. http://www.jbl.com/home/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=CST55&Language=ENG&Country=US&Region=USA&cat=CNS&ser=CNS

what do you guys think? my tv stand is a piano black finish with silver framing and glass shelfs so it matches perfectly. i'm ordering them through my contact later so unless you guys can suggest better together towers for under 400 shipped i'm set:D.

I wouldn't recommend those to everyone...do you not have the power for more conventional designs?

I have 26 devices plugged into my room's 4 outlets, only have a 25 amp breaker going to my room and I was gonna build those for my tv's HT....

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n228/SHiZNiLTi/th_room.jpg (http://s113.photobucket.com/albums/n228/SHiZNiLTi/?action=view&current=room.flv)

If I try to run another hi-end HT reciever my breaker blows, so therefore this design shown in the above post is really appealing to me becausea can get big output with small amps.

Anything else bad about these?

Your Kilpsch Forte II's don't need much power do they Jim??

I want to listen to a pair of those.... Care to send them this way for a month or three??

They rock with 8 watts or so...get louder than I care to listen to them :)

Really room sensitive though...that's the only reason I kept my EQ, because they are horn loaded compression drivers after all.

I've yet to blow a breaker during high level listening in the dorms... I've got 4kw on tap, but I have blown the breaker turning the gear on twice, confuses the hell outa me.

I don't h ear a turnon thump... I've got that ADCOM remember? I'm kinda fond of the delayed amp turnons and the delayed accessories shutoff :)

LOL, sorry for quality - I was really ripped when I made it (hence all the lighting effect) :P The video was just to display the multiple devices in the room to explain why the breaker is blowing when I try to add another HT reciever, pointless post actually.

The current setup for the PC sound is...

X-Fi Platnium output with optical cable
VTF-3 MK 2 12" 700watt HSU Subwoofer 1.75 cubes @ 25hz
Harmon Kardon AVR 430 7.1 910watt Receiver
JBL E30 for front left & right
Infinity Primus C25 Center Channel Speaker

It's just that the 13,000 BTU AC unit that I have ***** soo much juice it's hard to have the Computer, 42" Tube, and HT audio on all at once. So I was thinking of using that design by Pete which he makes sound amazing.

Your probabaly right though, by saying "I'd be better off using a more coventional design"

Sounds like your purposes are better served by power management than new speakers...

And don't give Pete too much credit for that design, it's been around for a long time :)

what the crap happened to my thread...i'm reporting you jerks to the mods:D :p: j/k.

to the comment on center channel, my current setup is 4 jbl s36II bookshelfs doing the front/rear left/right and a Studio II 3-way center channel with a JBL S120PII 12" powered sub for low end. it's all jbl b/c when i worked at best buy i got the stuff(as i am now) on accomodation price so a 3800 dollar 5.1 only set me back 1200 or so. the cst55's will just round it out a bit i'm hoping:D. again though if anyone can put out there a better pair of tower's that'll work off 75-85 watts @8ohm shoot em' out there.

what's wrong with jbl? my biggest reason i use them other than the price, is i've had my current 5.1 setup since 2002. These speakers will be 5 years old in about 5 months and IMO that can't be bad if they've lasted this long with not 1 problem. plus i still say point out a better 5.1 setup for under 1300 that is all new with 3 year warranty.
