I'm going to put an RL-i 8" in my wifes car (the sparetire well), but VW is weird sometimes and they put a big "hump" right in the middle. I wanted to find out an easy way ti figure out the air space I have in there. Any ideas?? I know about the packing peanuts, but are there any other ways to figure it out?? Thx, Vic.

(pi*radius^2 outer) - (pi*radius^2 inner) add a little for the square corners.

Build a 1 cubic foot box. Fill it with kitty litter and start dumping it in the well. Count how many times you refill the box. Thats how many cubic feet you have.

It won't be easy to get out. But you'll have an exact number.

the packing peanuts is the same general idea, just much easier to clean up ;).

(pi*radius^2 outer) - (pi*radius^2 inner) add a little for the square corners.

x2..... measure across the entire thing and then measure across the lump in the middle. Then measure the depth and post it in here.
