Well I just started my box tonight and have got all my cuts done. I have finished all my pre drilling and counter sinking. I've glued my double 1.5" baffle together and got a dry fit assembled. Thanks to EVERYONE for the help on the designs too. BTW sorry for bad pics, it's dark and didn't have proper lighting.

Box Specs:
- 2.5cu ft
- 33hz
- 40" of port
- Geared for a low pounding DD

What is Left:

-Glue and screw Pieces
-Make Circle Cutout for Sub
-Put in 45degree angles (in every corner, including port)
-Silcone Corners
-Prime and Paint port
-Sand all edges
-Paint or Carpet Box
-Then wire up sub, set up amp and Bump

Well the RE Calculator says the box is 2.88cu tuned to 30hz, while the subwoofertools calculator says 2.5 @ 33hz, so w/e, 2.88 @ 30hz is good too.

It will be ready for the most part by tonight, still need to make circlular cut out for baffle.

Pics Soon!

Looks great man. You could have deffinitly done without the double baffle, but it doesnt hurt..

55-60lb sub needs a double baffle imo, especially if the circle cutout is 11 1/8" and the baffle is only 12.5" high.

Thanks.

Guys, I will DEF recommend 2 layer's of primer and 3-4 layer's of paint when painting your port. It came out soo nice and it won't ever peel off or fade. The color is so crisp, yes it's only a port, but if your going to do it, do it right!

Looks good so far. What's the texture like of the paint you used?

kicker06
11-09-2006, 10:31 PM
Thanks, what is it like when it's dried? It is very smooth. This is due to the many thin layers that I applied. I tried to do thin layer's and tried to get the paint spread out evenly to get the fullest color.

Let me tell you.

These 90 degree clamps at $8 a piece were worth every penny. They make it soo much easier. Just make sure you get enough. 8-10 is a good number for a box with a slot port.

Will update more today. Probably will be finshed

Well, the only things left to do are to add some touch up port paint, glue and screw the top and mount the sub. Once it's here that is. ****ing DHL! Does DHL deliver on sundays perhaps?

They do if you pay for it I think, IIRC.

lilmaniac2
11-11-2006, 11:54 PM
:fyi: You can get by using a single pair of those clamps :) :fyi:

kicker06
11-12-2006, 12:24 AM
It's makes both ends square with 2 clamps on an angle. 1 clamp doesn't do justice.

Hmmm

Hey, do you know the nominal impendence of dual 2 coils on the Palm?

lilmaniac2
