Hey I am looking for the best compents for 1 of my work trucks it is a 2000 GMC 3500. I dont want to spend more than 100 dollars. I want a crisp mellow sounding set I would like silk dome tweets not aluminum. So please give me some opnions temporally I will run them off a Sony GTX-500 head unit and in the next month I will get a amp and feed em around 50 watts a piece.

Thanks for any help.

I guess the Quarts have it for $100, but I've never been a fan of Quart.

For a touch more, my pick would be Oz Audio Vectors:

Authorized: http://www.millionbuy.com/ozav650s3.html

Unauthorized: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4728&CFID=2435258&CFTOKEN=ec5366820f15a2f-9318621B-1422-7C6E-506BFF54A44500C2

They won't be authorized, but you can also try:

Or Pioneer Revs:

And then there's the ubiquitous CDT CL (authorized)

He is going to need way more than 50 watts a piece to power the CDT's. Especially the cl61. You want to put 150 watts to them to make them sing.

I'd say get the CDT CL61 for about $130 and save up for a better amp.

STAY AWAY from the CDT cl61's.Most overhyped pieces of **** I have heard. They are far from "crisp".Honestly, very dissapointing. They just sound god awful.

The pioneer revs are your best bet :)

what kind of install did you hear the CDT's in. Properly installed in well made kicks or a well deadened door. I find it hard to believe anyone can call them POS's.

I've actually heard them in a couple, and I owned a set for a while.Messed with them quite a bit.We went as far as to try replacing a friend's polks with them in kicks.Tried a couple diff. amps, even another head unit and they still sounded. . . . . bleh.

Must have had a bad set or something, i have used, infinity, polk, mb quart and still like the sound of the Cdt better. My brother was even using Diamands and heard my Cdt CL61's and switched too.

Check ebay, I just bought some new ADS 246iX 6.5" (copolymer cone) for $99 (retail $300) and they have ADS 346iX (aluminum spun cone) 6.5"(retail $600) on sale for $139 from "the12vikings"(?). Someone (supposedly very knowledgeable) on another forum gave me this tip and said ADS are top of the line.

These the A/D/S's?

So these are the **** huh?

Currently have a set of CDT CL-61a's I bought a while back for about $130. Am I to assume these would be a noticable step up?

My rear stage is a set of Boston SL60's. Boy those things ****. 110w+80hz=Popcorn. Got them set at 125, and they sound decent for rear fill, thats about it.
