That's right it is. Ive got 200w running to each side and they sound amazing. Have them crossed over a 80hz on a 12dB slope and they are Punchy little mothers. I need to deaden my doors soon, SOO I have a 10% discount at Lowes for anything. So I get Peal and Seal for $1 per Sq/Ft. So I will probably do 12-15sq/ft per door and do the trunk lid too.

So basically it's only going to get better. I will have pics of the Midbass and deadening scene and such so it's going to be good. The only thing that is kind of annoying are the titanium tweeters, but I haven't fully toned them down on my headunit, thats next to do tomorrow.

So I thought I would let you know about the midbass and whats coming up next...Stay Tuned!

Dont go cheap and use Peel n seal, you'll regret it. Get sound deadener made for that purpose. PNS will come off during heat and cause a hugeeeee mess.

I'm looking into Elemental Designs vs1. Its $1 per sq/ft as well, Im just tryinh to find out if people like it or not. Also wondering if there is forum pricing, I can't find the link to the other forum priced products.

We will see, but I KNOW deadener will help a lot.

haha, I really do say it a lot.

i was looking into deadning about a year ago. One of the products i researched was the eDead. I think most of the responses were typicall eD, that it was peel and seal with there name on it.

oh and seal up any major holes in your door with sheet metal, then cover that with deadning material. there is a how-to somewhere around here.

it is a completely different product now.
it was asphalt based now it is butyl based and much more flexible.
i had problems with v1se coming off my doors but it has been on my trunk lid for much longer (a little over a year) with no signs of moving.
about 3 months ago i ripped the v1 off my doors and replaced it with v1se2 and it seems very promising so far.

and JNTAR used peal and seal on his doors with a layer or two of SS spectrum over the top and it has been holding strong for quite some time.

Daaayum Kicker06 those Crystals were just beatin' somethin' fierce!

kicker06
10-25-2006, 11:37 PM
Yea, they're pretty cute ;)

Tweets are kind of harsh, but that's what you expect from titanium dome. It's all worth it because the midbass is just pure madness.

Tomorrow I will use my PROPER video camera, longer vids, better frame quality. Then they will be beating something fierce.

I guess I have to turn my highs down.

Best way to tune is to set everything flat and then go from there. You shouldnt need huge improvments so nothing should be at a max. You might also wanna mess with the phase a bit and see how that affects it.

kicker06
10-27-2006, 12:09 AM
Yea.

We will see, ill play them for a while and see whats up, supposedly they need to break in or warm up.

glad you're liking them:) how much did you get your 400.4 again? and what's the specs?

specs are: 50 x 4 @ 4 ohm
100 x 4 @ 2
200 x 2 @ 4 bridged
i love mine bridged to my SLC's.

best thing was it was only 150 on ebay :veryhapp:

kicker06
10-29-2006, 10:25 AM
200+ watts a side gets things going thats for sure.

dleccord: did you notice the SQ of your Crystals improve as you used them more and more? I def hear a difference from when they were first installed, and it hasn't even been a week.

kicker06
10-29-2006, 01:24 PM
Yea, lets hope it's a big improvment.

But it's also your ears adjusting to their sound.

I bridged my md.42 down to 2 channel just to see how the speakers liked it, and they didnt sound much better (louder) but the voice coils didnt like the extra power too much, keep in mind the gain was only little higher than 1/4. They took it just fine, but just started to smell a little funny. Still like them anyways but the dont appear to like 240+ rms.

kicker06
10-29-2006, 11:13 PM
What did you HP them at?

SlickCMRick
10-30-2006, 03:10 AM
I have SSX615's in my front now, Im considering putting them in the back for RAF and grabbing a pair of SSSC6's after seeing this video! I hope 150w rms from an eclipse ea4000 will be enough. Should I set the HP at about 80? Also, where is a great place to get these?

Infinitecaraudio says Avail: Coming Soon

I hear about Larry from fullsizechevy, how much is he? and how can I contact him?

Thanks

Ok, well an update.

After 3 weeks or w/e it has been, the SQ has improved SOOO much. They sound amazing now. It seems they are lacking on loudness, but that might be me.

But they Sound amazing. A lot better than some comp's double or triple the price!

Nope, no att. As long as you have a headunit with good control, it will be fine. I use my 5800mp and it's perfectly fine.
