View Full Version : iPod album art on headunit?

I want a motorized screen headunit (preferably) that has an ipod adapter and when you hook the ipod up and play a song, it will show the title and artist and stuff on the h/u screen along with the picture of the album cover (just like it does on the ipod 5g video). Do any headunits do that or will they only show the artist, and song title, etc?

the new alpines do not have a motorized face but they do have a direct plug in for your ipod. all you need is a cord, no adapter needed. it gives you complete control of everything.

I know the higher up Pioneer HUs (starting with the 4800MP) have a motorized face, but you'll need to buy the $50 iPod adapter with them. I'm not sure about album art, but from the 6800MP up it's supposed to be complete control just like the Alpines. I haven't used it myself just yet, but I do plan on getting the Premier 680MP because of the "complete control" stuff.

The Pioneer AVIC-N3 was made to have better IPOD interface as compared to the earlier models. You just need a $50 adapter as stated above. You have full on screen control, with a screen that looks much like the IPOD itself.

Hmm, none really look like the will show the album art while a song is playing which is what I really want. Pioneer looks good but is expensive!

I don't believe the Alpines do the cover art but there are two current models with motorized screens... IVA-D310 and IVA-D100.

The D310 has the old Alpine iPod interface which *****. Be sure to get a unit with Alpine's new "Full Speed iPod" connection. Much faster, much slicker and the cable (KCA-422i) is much cheaper than the previous iPod interface (the KCA-420i). The D100 and the double-din IVA-W200 both have the Full Speed iPod.

Not sure about album art, but I'm pretty sure the new Clarion flip-out will play video from a video iPod. Now, that's what I'm talking about!
