I'm kinda with Beat on this one...are you sure the display mode didn't get switched from Farenheit to Celcius? 32 degrees C = 90 degrees F :fyi:

I would have no idea how to change it back (if our assumption is, in fact, what actually happened though it makes the most sense)
I do not have a car like yours and cannot recall that I've ever been in one.

What probably happened is a faulty hard line in the a/c system leaking into the heater core and thus cooling the outer portion where the cabin temperature sensor is but only minutely affecting the inner portion where heat will be coming from. Might want to have that checked out, you don't want to be breathing R134a if it is indeed leaking. The section of main concern is the liquid line which is prior to a fixed orifice, after the compressor but still before the routing of lines reaches the condensor.

Pretty doubtful he's got 134a in an '89 model Ford product unless the system's been converted...

Coolant designations....

Of course, if you looked on Google for more than two seconds before doing a keyboard dump on here you'd know that.

R32 R12 wtf does all this mean????

type of **** in your AC, doesn't matter.

Think about how far fetched it is that the AC would drop the temp to what just so happens to convert back to 90 F.

but safe is usually better then sorry i suppose.

Most likely the units got changed to metric, I used to have one of these years ago when they were new, my last lincoln was alot newer but there was a button on the dash that changed the speedometer, odometer, etc from imprerial to metric, find that and press it.

was it the same question as this one?

i'd just register and ask on all lincoln forums you find.

"where is the button on my dash to switch from celsius to faranheit."

but honestly i can't see how it'd be that hard to find. i've, and i'm sure alot of people on here, have done basically the same thing and figured out with minimal effort.
