Car is located in Northern VA and is a 5-speed manual transmission, fantastic car for someone looking for a winter/daily driver to go with their Cobra/Saleen/Mach. This Ford Certified Mustang was bought in 2004 and I also purchased the 6-year 75k mile extended warranty which I never ended up using.

So...I'm thinking about selling my 3.8 and moving up to the 4.6 world....the car has 69,000 miles on it currently and has tons of work and money put into it. The paint condition is good, but the front bumper could use repainting (couple chips and bugs/etc), few small scratches here and there....nothing out of the normal wear and tear for a 7 year old car. Leather seats, power driver's seat, mach 460 was ripped out to install new system, but have OG parts.

The highlight of the car would definitely have to be the sound system, guaranteed to be one of the best you've ever heard in a Mustang (or any other car). Here is what I've put into the car:

GT hood (whole hood, not just scoop): $700
GT side scoops: $150
1" hubcentric wheel spacers, not installed yet: $80
HoodLift gas shocks: $100
Carbon Fiber shift knob: $100
Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs: $230
Kenny Brown Caster/Camber plates: $190
4 ADR Sterling 18" chrome rims: $1000
4 Pirelli Zero Nero M&S tires 245/40/18 with 36k mile Road Hazard warranty (only 10k miles on tires) - $800
Alpine 7998 head unit - $849 new, paid $400 for mine
CDT HD-62 component speakers w/ upgraded tweeters - $475
(2) Image Dynamics IDmax 12" subs - paid $500, $898 new (449 each
Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 - $325
US amps 400x - $599 (I think?)
Custom 3 cubic foot box - $150
4 gauge and 8 gauge wiring kits - $80
62 square feet of Raammat sound deadening - $119
260A Dominick Iraggi alternator - $329
Hawker Odyssey gel cell battery - $105
1/0 gauge wiring for alternator/battery - $40
Shorty Antenna - $12
232 emblems sides and rear - $33
Mach 1 grille delete kit - $100
Smoked Clear Corner headlights w/ Silverstar bulbs - $230

I also have the stock tires/wheels, alternator, and battery. That is over $7,000 of aftermarket parts put into the car, and that doesn't even include labor (which I have well over $1,000 invested in). NADA currently has the car as valued at $6675 as a trade-in, so private party value would be around $7500. I would be asking $10k for everything, would anyone have any interest? Also taking offers not including audio system and rims. Interested in trading up for Cobra/Mach 1/Saleen or a nice GT.

You can contact me on AIM at dgoldenzVT or email me at [email protected] I'm located in Blacksburg, VA while at school and Haymarket, VA while at home.

Jesus man, not to derail or anything, but for the money you've got in the car and what you've already done it would probably be a much more cost effective and better option to do a swap with the cobra or mach 1 long block (engine and tranny). you've already got alot of the **** on there. the only big difference between what you've got setup already and a cobra would be the IRS and there wouldn't be a real difference between that with a different engine and a mach 1 at all. besides minor things. just food for thought.

rear bumper would need replaced as well. stuff like that.

Or why not just supercharge it....? There are lots of performance mods for a 3.8...especially the 99 up...plus think of the insurance savings..

There's a lot more work that goes into that than simply swapping out the engine...he'd also be looking at picking up a new transmission (which you mentioned), the entire rear would need to be swapped out for an 8.8, the electronics would all need to be upgraded, etc. He'd obviously need more than a simple "longblock" as he'd also need all the accessories/intake/etc. Smaller things such as the starter and master cylinder (brakes) would need to be swapped to the different 4V versions to make room for the motor. He'd also need a full exhaust, new fuel upgrades, and the list goes on and on. It'd be more cost effective for him to simply dump the car and pick up a Mach/Cobra.

without quite a bit of $$$ dumped into that route, he'd still be subpar when compared to the Cobra/Mach counterparts.

I can pick up a 500+ HP 03 Cobra with under 30k miles for around 20-22k, so if I can get 10k out of this (my payoff is $4k), I can deal with the $300 or so monthly payments. I don't have thousands laying around to upgrade to a new engine/transmission/rear end/etc/etc/etc because no matter what I put into the car, it will always have been a v6 and the re-sale will never approach what a Cobra's will. I've already thought it out and after taking an 03 Cobra for a spin the other day, I'm sold on the idea as long as I can afford it. Bump.

This will save a lot of time, money, and energy for whoever buys it....I forgot to mention, this car has a completely clean carfax and is a 2-owner car, none of that corporate fleet BS (a.k.a. used as a rental car) that you find at most dealerships

What are you looking to buy? I may take out all the audio equipment before winter break.

http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=845435 My brother is trying to sell his, posted price of $20k but will take less, car still needs a few things but it is a monster!!! Never seen a dyno on this setup as this motor has less than 100 miles, but should make somewhere in the vicinity of 550-600 rwhp on the motor, setup for nitrous should take a 250-300 shot with no problems

Not looking for a highly modded car, sorry. Too many problems, too much maintenance costs.
