So that I don't get evicted from my house before I'm 18. Holy mother of God is the only thing I can say in respect to these subs. Two Mach 5 Audio MAW-12. Don't even think about saying that there is a better value speaker on the market. IN my room thus far, I've had these, an SE 15, an SX 15, a DD 9515d, two RE 10s, a punch P3 15, L715, 4 pyramid hyper pro 10s (ridiculous for the 20 bucks i got 'em for, but sounded like balls), and quite easily, the mach 5s are the loudest by far. I'm feeding them 1400 watts, and the amp is getting hot and the subs aren't showing any signs of weakness. The first time I hooked them up, I was all ready to say wow, these blow. They were buzzy, boomy and not loud enough. Then I thought about what I was doing, and took the subs out. Sure enough, wired to 16 ohms. Hooked them back up to 4 ohms S-P wiring, and well...my dad hasn't come home yet so I still have some more time to live :D And the best part about it? I'm playing Joshua Redman's Momentum album, and they are as musical as possible, even tho theres still a lil too much bass on the lowest gain setting :D

On to the pics:

The build quality is nothing short of spectacular. Proper connections on the tinsels, basket is extremely strong, surround COULD be a lil stiffer to up the Cms a bit, and to offer a lil higher power handling, but it's great as I've been saying. Cannot be beat for the price, frankly. Oh, and the boxes that mine came in were marked as dual 2 ohm, don't worry. They don't make a D2 yet, they're D4s.

Also, if you guys want the design for the box, I'll be glad to post this one up. It works well with such a large amount of speakers that I don't feel bad posting it. 4.5 cubes tuned to 33hz.

Plus, I built the box in the shortest amt of time for a dual sub box ever for me. It was like from 9-11:30, and that's with friends over too.

Oh and to those who are questioning the lack of finishing: the subs themselves are simple and effective, bare MDF is the same. No need to finish.

Glad to hear they sound great. A friend of mine is thinking about putting a single sealed 10" in his truck. He isn't looking for output but decent SQ, small enclosure, and good price.

I'm making another box, but this time for a couple of 12" Type R's. I may pick up a couple of these [MAW-12] subs and see how they sound and if I like them maybee keep them instead of buying 2 Type R's. Whatcha think PV, they gonna compare to the 12" R's. Tha amp is a BXi1606D.

How would they sound in this box, since I kinda had my mind set on building this allready?...

How do you like your Behringer Europower EP1500 1400watt @ 4ohm amp?

They are going on ebay for around $200, seems like a good deal So do you have the recievers subwoofer out being inputed to the amp?....

Yep, that's how I have it hooked up. The port area on this box might be too small for the rs, although a similar one is in my friend's truck with zero port noise. The amp is good, but just get a ep2500. Worst decision I've ever made was to not bite the bullet so I can have the extra power on tap in case I need it.

So staying with my box design of 4.5cubes 30hz 60sq. in. you think I'll get the same kinda output that you got with your design if I decide to get these subs to try before I buy the type R's?

http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/1650/thisboxhk5.jpg

So when you answered Yes in your last post, was that to my question if you think these subs will compare to a couple or type r's? Or about the EP1500 amp?

Thanks for your input in advance :D

Ours must have been damaged in transit...or the stars were out of alignment that day, or something...

Good to hear they're working out for you though.

In this application, I can't say which would be louder. Most likely the r's, but the Mach's are literally around 1/4 the price.

They're great, you should try some in the Tulip van :D

In fact, they are getting better. I'm not one to believe in break-in, but these guys somehow have gotten more musical. If you aren't a hi-fi guy, you probably wouldn't notice, but since I'm all about the sleeper setup (great sq, but will still collapse your diaphragm), I find them to be still excellent.

how low was it?

Let's just say that I've never seen the steering column in a car move before from Hoods Run Down. I'm not saying that because I made the box, in fact, I'd sold it to a kid in town and he was saying this was happening about 2 months later. He wasn't shitting.
