Ok, got them for $145 shipped. Came in perfect condition. Going to run them with my Diamond Audio 400.4 (200+wrms a side) when it arrives next week. I will also be crossing them around 90hz. Also got my Knukonceptz 4 gauge wiring kit in. $44 really cheap. Also the reason I took SOO many pics is because I haven't seen any other pics of Crystals, So now everyone can see them, always. They seem really sturdy, cast iron frame... I'm guessing feels solid, good connections around, seems like a solid set of components. Now onto my GALLERY of pictures.

Also, I'm not sure how to take crossover covers off, so no pics of internals, until someone tells me how to :P

Hmmmm i have the exact pair sitting in my room waiting to be installed. Still got a lot of work to do before i install them, but they sure do look **** sitting on my floor. The tweeters are pretty big on these suckas!

Uh, I could tell ya. But I would have to kill ya.

edit: wow, posted all at the same time...

They are massive, the midbass and tweeters that is. I love all the mounting options for the tweeters!

the crossover tops are held on by simple plastic clips on the sides. just squeeze the sides and they should pop off.

and a side note, you may really want to open them and check the lower Inductor coil because i have a set sitting here to be installed in my brother's truck and the lower inductor coil wasn't glued down well to the pcb. eventually the solder joints can break loose and you will loose either the mid or tweeter and that can cause damage to the speakers or amp. so definally try and check that out.

I just checked it out. The lower coil (near outter connections) has come unglued on one side. I could not open the other crossover to check. Guess I have to send the crossovers back =(

just glue them back down as long as the connectons are fine. i've had problems with CDT and JL crossovers doing the same thing. a little super glue FTW.

where do you order them from?

kicker06

ROE.

I was just told, that I have voided ALL warrenty because I took the Crossover covers off. That is some BS. Looks like I'm on my own. Also, one of my push terminals is stuck, and I've been told I've also voided the warrenty by just trying to push it...which is some more total BS. Not going good.....this better make my ears bleed because they sound AMAZING, because I'm really pissed right now.

saywhat?
09-16-2006, 01:55 PM
you voided warranty because you PUSHED, a PUSH terminal.....sounds retarded as hell to me, and I wouldnt of told them you did anything lol

I haven't told Crystal Anything.

voided warantee for removing a cover and pushing a push terminal? who told you that? How are you supposed to mount the crossover and/or make adjustments without taking off the cover?

Exactly what I said.

who ever you bought them from if they told you the warranty is void cause you removed the xover cover and pushed on the "push" terminals they shouldnt be selling speakers or any audio for that matter period. Please post who said that to you so others can avoid purchasing from there!

He made a mistake, he was thinking of another set of components.

theelfkeeper
09-16-2006, 10:47 PM
so then you did or didn't void the warranty for such stupid reasons??

kicker06
09-17-2006, 02:01 AM
Did not void the warrenty. I just don't want to send them back and wait forever...and then pay shipping AGAIN for their mistake.

yeah i had these but the plastic part holding the terminals was broken.. so i just returned them and went with something else.

kicker06
09-17-2006, 09:14 PM
lol, that little problem made you change speakers?

AzzKicker
09-19-2006, 12:58 AM
I just got these speakers today as well and on one of them the plastic thing that holds the terminals was broken on both sides. These better sound as good as people make them out to be. I'm downgrading from JL Audio XR's to these. Got a sweet deal on my new truck that I didnt even have time to take the old JL's out. I was able to yank out the amp and sub before salesman saw though.

I've already glued them together. I think it had to do with UPS. When I opened the box, the speaker with brokent terminal holder was kind of out of place. The factory packaging from Crystal is not the best. I will install them tomorrow and see how they sound. I'm sure they will be fine.

Well Shon has a set right now on him, so I'm sending my one midbass with the problem and the one crossover, and he's going to do a straight exchange. Should have everything by friday, when my amp is coming, so its all good.

Excellent news! You going to be taking pics of the install/install process for us?

so where did you get them?

kicker06
09-20-2006, 12:01 AM
Deja. There is no way I can install them myself. For one, I live in an aparment, and parking is minimal, there is no place to do it. Also, my car is AMAZINGLY difficult to work on. Running speaker and power wire is very diffcult too.

josh...i got them from ROE

***** man. I'm afraid I might be in the same boat as you as far as the difficulty. Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to deal with all the Monsoon crap. I dread the day I start working on my install.

I busted my binding posts off the puny stands today on both my mids...
The binding posts are too large and got snagged on my door panel when
I stripped my old truck down back to OEM radio and speakers...
I am rather pissed since crystal has no replacment parts and Ill have to buy
a new pair to replace the ones I butchered today

dleccord
09-21-2006, 12:06 AM
hehe, are you buying their mids only?
