ok, i have a problem in my car when i crank my stereo the right cdt hd 6.5" seems to "Bottom Out" while the left has never had this happen, i do have the balance set to right 2, however i still dont think that this should be happening because i have never heard it on the left no matter how loud i go. do you think it could be something wrong with the driver? or possibly it isnt sealed right? i have a layer of sound deadner stuck on the cutout ring of the baffle to help seal it.. any suggestions? the set is getting 180watts rms from my ra2400, which is the rec power for the set...

That is alot of power for 6.5" speakers and having it faded to the right +2 is sending more signal to that side. I bet if you left it centered it would go away.

What crossover point do you have them set to? I would recommend at least 80-100Hz and up actively in conjuction with the passive crossover networks provided with the speakers.

they are crossed to the sub at 80hz, and the 180rms is not just for the mids, it powers the tweets two (cdt 560 is the xover)

Is the stock grille still in place? Could the speaker be hitting it? I have had that problem in a number of cars.

no i cut out the stock grills and the speakers are being protected by the cdt grilles as shown below

it was high volume clipping (clip light on my amp comes on) so i lowered my gains a bit..i wish these could go louder :( my si mag drowns them out with ease

drop the rears and do a 3way setup instead. Make some kicks to house a 4in or 3in driver. I do this in my Galant with my Mag and I have no problems with overpowering.
