View Full Version : 4 eD 9kv.2's in a fiberglass box (pics)

i scored 4 eD 9kv.2's from ndnbolla since i wanted to try something different.
they are going in a 1.8ish cubic foot sealed box that is glassed down into the spare tire well to get extra space without having a tall box.

this is my first attempt doing anything like this and i think it went pretty well.
if i could do it over again there is things i would do differently but that is the way these things go.

in the trunk, the box only sticks up about 3.5" from where the stock floor was.

the two center subs will be mounted regularly but the outer two will be inverted due to the box being shallow on the ends.

now i just need to figure out where i am going to put my amps/crossover/eq.
the subs should be here tomorrow so hopefully i will get them in and the top/beauty panel built to make them look a little better.

i know it isnt pretty but it should get the job done.
and the parts that will be visible will not be so ugly.

any comments would be appreciated.

Looks good.... I just picked up a quatro of 9kv.2's as well and will be doing something similar

wow dude its ok you can wipe away the bleed out glue LOL. Got glue booger all over the inside of the box. LMAO I would extend the box top into the sides of the wheel well for your amp racks and crossovers etc.

i was messing with the clamps to hold it together while it was glued and didnt care about the drips.
they will be sanded off anyways.

well then i might be able to go after all.

i got the subs in and installed only to find out i gave a freaking air leak :mad:
even with that they sound pretty good.
hopefully i will get the leak taken care of soon. :furious:

Hey, I just sound found this thread.

I'm glad the subs came to you in one piece. I was worrying about them the whole week but luckily nothing was damaged with all the stories we hear at ca.com.

Did you find that air leak yet? I'm about to start a fiberglass project myself too. How many layers did you put in the car before you finished it out of the vehicle (or did you do all of them inside).
