what is the best stuff to use and the best way to seal your box. i have a q-logic box for two 12's

yeah....i think you have some stuff mixed up there. Even subs like JL's w7 only needs a face thicker than 3/4" mdf. I have personally never heard of anyone useing HDF. To answer your question, MDF in 3/4 or 1/2" thickness with something like liqiude nails will seal the box perfectly (use 5/4" drywall screws to hold while glue sets and leave them in for added strength). I tend to be messy and use woodglue instead, its plenty strong and I simply seal the box with silicon (do not put the sub in the box for 24+ hours if you silicon, it MAY cause damage to certain subs, so why risk it.
