I have a situation... my current box was made about 7 years ago and it was made out of partical board and it is rotting on the legs. The place that made it refuses to re-do it saying that's all that is available then even though there is a lifetime warranty. So, how long have installers been using MDF?

....since the begining of time ;) . belive it or not its irelevent how long its been used for since it is still used today. Mostly for low pressure subs (low pressure = poorer, softer output). So chances are they are going to send you a new particle board box, which dependant on your application might be ok. If not, look into building, or have an mdf box built.
