What did you drop for that cable.... I've been buying Straight Wire and Nordost cables and been very happy with them....

Not bad.... I dropped $140 on my Straight Wire between my Pre-Amp and my Amp, then $180 on the Nordost Blue Heavens for my CD Player.....

It sounds beautifulllll.....

Well I was a skeptic until my buddy Julio and I played about 5 different cables, and they all sounded different....

I think it's INOX cables that come in a box that is something that jewlery comes in....

Knu roxors my boxors.

B&W: I like A LOT of your gear but I don't envy the IDIOTIC prices you just claimed to spend on cables and will forever find it hard to believe there is an audible difference to justify their price. As long as your mind helps put you at ease by psychologically justifying the cost and make you happy then rock on dude.

Maybe someday I will be proven wrong meh, who knows.

The basic idea is that the outputs of the components react differently with different impedances at different frequencies and capacitance with resistance etc... So they optimize the specs for different things...

Like the Nordost cable is really good on Arcam and Classe while the Straight Wire is better on Rotel and B&K stuff like that….

Check this out and read some of the tech papers and such... Makes sense to me....

Anyone can spit a crapload of theory, but in the real world these difference usually aren't noticable. They just make good marketing. As long as it makes you happy though, thats what counts.

I'm not going to fight this either way but you can believe what you want down there in your world and I'll believe what I want up here in mine....

Now why is my world below yours :crap: :D

In any event maybe my ears ares super ears like some people. I have heard similiar crap spewed to me and then when they go to so called "prove" it to me, I don't hear any difference. Thats why I think it is all placebo.

I think there are much better investments than "cables" to put good money down on. One of them is spending money on things that keep my woman happy.

But for an active preamp, who really cares? You have enough gain to pretty much drive any sort of interconnect RLC figure, and even if it was critical - I bet I could find cables for cheaper that measure exactly the sme and therefore "sound" the same :)

I've read enough about passive preamps to know that where you're coming from is documented stuff, but I'm not sure how much of it applies when you have gain to spare. And regardless I don't think it's worth that kind of money vs. homebrewing your own.

Oh, was that a low blow???? Just kidding... I didn't mean to put anyone's world above anyone elses's...
