iamamp3pimp

this one would be for a local girl that i work with...as well as a good friend of mine.

it is 3.0 cube enclosure for a single Kicker 05 model L7, with an eighter for a port (no flare though)

it also will house an amprack, with a Viper 500.4 and a Viper 1200.1, along with 4 120 mm PC case fans to keep them nice and cool, and 0/1 going in for power, as well as ground, and a Relay to control the fans, and the rest of the needed speaker wires and whatnot

here are a few pics of the design

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d177/iamamp3pimp/Worklogs/Kattress/looks.jpg

heres a backside shot of the soon to be amprack

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d177/iamamp3pimp/Worklogs/Kattress/looks5.jpg

Thats a little shot of the bracing that will be in place, 1.5 inch dowels.

and a final shot.

the build will start tomorrow, and go in until who knows when.

how are you going to get an 8" port long enough to fit in there for 35hz?

I forgot to mention that part.

Youll see.........

and if it fails, then ill just slot it.

the amps will be in the lower area of the rack, and the fans directly on top of them, with one intake, and one exaust for each amp.

As am I. Was thinking of getting 60 mm fans that push 50 cubic feet of air per minute, but decided against it.

just about finished working on this one......but i encountered a problem.

I dont have enough clearance between the end of the port, and the sub, so i gave up on the eighter (for now.....It will be goin on a 4th order designed by 80 inches soon enough

****, I really wanted to use this

All i had to do was glass it up, but the box isnt wide enough for it to work, so its all to the good.

It will be used in the future. Maybe even in a future rendition of the wall

Should of cut it up and turned it into a steve Meade style Squaro Port.

i'd love too, but with a 10 inch depth in this one, there just isnt enough room for that. Something like that is in order, in a certain Cobras Back Deck though.

Sorry Meade, But its too cool not to try.

nice.

well that works for me.

You should come by ahead of time to get planning started for the design though. that part was much more time consuming than anything else.

Planning it took all my spare time for at least 2 weeks.

building it (solo) took 4 solid days.

pimpedout97x
09-01-2006, 11:34 PM
well i remeber how u told me itll take like 5 days or something to build the wall, and the car wouldnt be driveable when its being built...i figure if we build a little bit each day, i could just come one day, well build what we can, i could drive home, come back another day when your off or whatever, etc...ive been driving around MONTHS with no interior behind my front 2 seats, so im used to the "under construction" thing lol

Update

I put the front on, but was unable to get any pics, and i put it in a 2004 dakota running the L7 from 300 watts and it was nice, you could feel it and hear it quite nicely. Lookng to get that amprack finished soon. I am going to put the 4 120 MM fans n there, one on each side, and 2 at the top for exaust. (SP?)

Updates.

For those that dont know...the eighter hit the wayside, and i had to decrease the size of the box because of it....so it is not a 2.5 @ 36 HZ enclosure with just under 50 inches of port.

Here are some updated pics

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d177/iamamp3pimp/Worklogs/Kattress/build003.jpg

Honestlly the design of the entire thing has changed due to certain things not working out.

now the cooling system is a dedicated push/pull system, where the air comes in from the left (if you are looking at the front) and comes oout of the right........both on the bottom.

here are some pics to better clairify that

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d177/iamamp3pimp/Worklogs/Kattress/build014.jpg

and here are a couple finished images of the front...the wires in the back still need to be claned up a bit, but its nice and late
