I got my Dayton Reference 7's one day after I orderd from parts express.

Now I'm popping them in my Ranger!!!!

Yay!

HAPPY

JOY!

All I have to do to get them to fit in the stock speaker holes in the front doors is bend the sheetmetal inwards slighly with pliers, and they plop right in!!!

I think I'm going to have an orgasam now.. and I only have one in. Not yet even hooked up!

Probably the 4 ohm RS series right? RS180? Seems to be a great choice these days.

I need to order me some, but the bigger discount only lies within larger quanities. :(

Ha, well... Pics in the morning compadres, it's dark as hell out there.

I am so far not impressed. HOWEVER, running in an undeadened door with no baffle to speak of, no proper tweeter, headunit power and nothing but Shadows Fall it's difficult to get the jist of the sound.

I think I'm going to run Boston ProSeries 4.5's as mids/highs (4" comp set)... Should work nicely I think.

I get fairly good prices from PE now, but the quantities would make it more enticing to play with em.

Do they need a box per say or just a baffle? I have some Raamat on the way as well as am going to surround them with modeling clay.

Will have an alpine MRV545 (laying around in one of those pics above) on them.

I should do this more often. Just take a picture of all piles of **** I have and look through the pics in the lounge chair instead of digging around.... I found my **** wire strippers... (top Pic)

ROFL... I wish that would work that well for me... apparently, my camera doesn't have the tool-finding feature.

Heh, most don't. It's a wheres waldo kind of thing :)

Well, after installing them halfway (need to be sealed with modeling clay, amplified, and the doors need to be RAAMmatted) on both sides of the truck, the sound is remarkably clear and defined. It lacks punch because of the lack of a solid baffle, but will definitely thump a bit more when I get that done.
