I noticed on the webpage that the SLC265 are 4ohm .. could they be wired to run 2ohm? because im trying to look for an amp that can push 100watts to each speaker. I would need a 4-channel amp right? to push the tweeters, frontstage, and back?

no they can not be ran at 2ohm. You can not reconfigure the impedence. I say loos the rears and get a sub or subs. You can still use a 4 channel to run that.

I'm not sure if I really get what you mean... but this is how I interpreted what you said.

You want to run the tweeters on channels 1 and 2, then then the mids off channels 3 and 4? If that's what you were thinkin, you can do that. You would need to set the crossover frequencies on either you amp or deck to do this. However, you can't run them at 2 ohms.

okay thanks guys .. so if i get lets say a MTX 3404 amp. The speakers will be running on 50watts x 4 @ 4 ohm? will this be enough power for the rainbow comps?

it will power them, but they would shine with more.

hmmm... so something on the line of a 7804? where it is 100 x 4 @4ohm??

if you bridge that amp to the SLCs, they will get ~200 watts and they would shine off that power. i had my slc's run off 85 watts and the midbass was very punchy. with that kind of headroom you are going to have, it'll sound awesome.

It sounds like he wants to reserve 2 channels for rear though. Unless I misunderstood the original post.

Drop the rears (or run them off the HU) and bridge the amp will work great as well.

yea i'd bridge that amp if you could.

and i also agree if rears is what you want, just run them off of hu power.

So ... a 3404 will do for the tweeters and frontstage? and leave the backstage off .. since i have a sub in the trunk??

yes that would do the trick. kill the rears. and bridge the amp and you are golden.

Also another question .. is there a thread telling a person how to bridge an amplifier? Is it using 1 amplifier or 2?

Tweeters ARE part of the frontstage. Comp set = tweets and midbasses. If your deadset on rears then run em off the HU power. Since you didnt already buy an amp, then a 2 channel with adequate power would work fine and easier.

Hey 6spd what would be a decent amount of power in your opinion to run these comps ..?? 100 x 2 @4ohm?? 200 x 2 @ 40hm?

100 X 2 from any reputable amp would be great. Although Id say anything above 65-80 would work as well.
