oh they are the "octane R 6.5"

They are pgs entry level component, so dnt expect the best performance. You may enjoy the set though. I bought the octane r coaxes for my sisters car, and they sounded pretty good off deck power, for what they were.

Well...considering he bought newb componets, more than likely he is a newb who doesn't understand such concepts.

they are decent but for the money they are amazing. i only have h/u power going to them so i cant really tell you what they will sound like under the correct conditions. but dont expect to be blown away from their sound.

and as for them being newb components they arent they are just cheap and many people into car audio are young and unless daddy feeds them money they cant afford rainbows or some outlandishly priced component set.

But my point is, what if everyone here told you they were a waste? Wouldnt this have been helpful prior to spending your money?

I am glad my father allows me to work two jobs to support my rainbow habit. :)

no dude i wasnt gearing the statement towards you its just that you gotta remember who is into caraudio and saying that it is a newb set is completely false. i just refered to rainbows cuz i know they are expensive as hell and are the rage on this forum i didnt realize you had them so i can see y you took it as i was talking about you.

I see.

I would just fkinda baggin on him because he asked AFTER purchase and joked on his set. I bet with a better install the me, they can outdo my setup. I wasn't joking on the equipment as much as I was the person. But considering the price point, many 'enthusiasts' (as that is what I consider myself) would not consider those comps, whereas those who are budget conscious and less demanding would.

I know...my comment was somewhat out of line in making me seem 'above' such a setup. I started with the type r's so I know where he is coming from, but I bought them because I heard them and liked them and they fit, and I didn't try to validate my choice AFTER purchase.
