ok so ive been of this forum for a little while now and im still not as knowledgeable about speakers i want to be. so i need some help chosing. i have an rsx and i got the sub stage to where i want it. so the next step is the front, they are 5.25'' speakers. i want sql, geared more towards sq. my budget is about 150ish (a little flexible is need be) and it can either be components or coaxils. i listen to mostly rap but every now and then some rock. i think that should be about it but ask me for more info if you need it.

i love my pioneer rev's. they're 6.5" with a 5" cutout, so maybe with a little work you could get them to fit. they're under $100 shipped (link in sig).

I think he was refering to the SLC's as being the forum boner, but trust me, they will give you a chub the second you install them! I know I got one! lol

Great component set for the price, you'll be hard up to find something as good as this in the under 250$ range.

Are you using an external amp for these, or are you simply using the HU's amp to power them? If you arent using an external amp, youd be better off with a cheaper set of coaxials, since you wouldnt be getting anywhere near the potential of any component set.

for right now i would run them off the HU. in like 2 or 3 weeks id get an external amp.

I really like the Polk MOMO stuff, but that's out of your price range.

The MMC525's however, are about 100$ BNIB from certain online stores, and they are decent coaxials.

Yes the momo stuff is sweet. The polk db series is certainly in your price range.

That'd be them alright. I've never heard the 5.25's, but I have messed with the 6.5's. Very nice midbass and surprisingly clear and natural highs. Even off-axis performance surpassed my expectations. All on 37.5w rms each from a Diamond amp. If I had gotten to hear them near or at their rms limit, I'm sure I'd still be smiling.
