after much research i decided the VW GLI was too much of a reliability concern and the toyota dealer where i used to work found me a white over charcoal V6 sport model camry for about $25k. 258hp V6 and 6 speed auto trans, factory 17's, aero kit, sport suspension, etc. Still rated at 22/31, same as my old 4 cyl acura tsx.
here's a gray one with some 19's to show the potential....

Wow, that's awesome! Definitely potential, that one looks pretty dang sweet!!!!!

And I'll say again, LOVE the Foose amps... whatever you do just make sure you show them off :D

My vote is to keep the flatline, probably because it's on the list of subs I REALLY want to try :)

Lookin good man!

my stock 17" se rims will probably be for sale around the end of the year.

a very good mechanic friend of mine suggests toyota's are NOT as reliable as they're cracked out to be. he is a nissan master tech but also worked as a regular tech at honda and toyota dealerships. although he worked at toyota for the shortest amount of time compared to the honda and nissan dealers, he claims that he replaced more transmissions and engines at his time at toyota than he had at honda and nissan COMBINED. food for thought...

(why'd you get rid of the TSX?)

Toyota also sells alot more cars than honda and nissan. they overtook ford recently as #2 in the US and are coming close to taking over GM.

The TSX is a sore subject, got a wild idea to trade it in on a Ram and realized it was a huge mistake.

I think the Camry would be a nice choice. I have owned two and never had any trouble out of either. The 2007 model looks very good IMO.

I personally would never modify that car to look like the one in the photo though. Very ghetto in my opinion. To me pimping a car out like that makes it look as though you are trying to disguise the fact it is a piece of crap (which in this case it certainly is not).

But each to his own. That's just my opinion, and since this is going to be your car and not mine, my opinion does not matter that much, if at all. ;)

Best looking Camry so far and fast too. It reminds me of the IS350 in the rear.

Agree! When I seen them on TV, I was like that is a Toyota Camry? Nice ride overall and look very good when done like that pic. Good choice.

thanks for the nice comments, personally i wouldn't buy anything with a mazda badge anywhere near it. make sure you sell it before the warranty is out.

dude you are so defensive of your grocery mobile calm down. it's ok though i'd take anything mazda over toyota unless it was a 97' supra. other than that toyota makes junk designed for mom's, grandma's and grandpa's.

mazdaspeed 6 0-60 & 1/4 miles from modern racer:
0-60 mph : 6.2 sec.
0- mile : 14.7 sec @ 96.5 mph

07 camry se v6 0-60 & 1/4 miles from road & track:
0-60 mph : 6.1 seconds
1/4 mile :14.5 seconds

the 6 is rated at 19/25 mpg and the camry is 22/31. i looked at the 6 too but for the money the camry is a better car, sorry dude.

yeah that 1/4 mile time was them using either 89 or 91 octane in the ms6. do you know the problem with using that low octane on that car? i personally have driven my ms6 at a track at 0-60 at 5.6, 1/4 at 13.78 @ 100.1. if you want i can provide actual track slips from other people doing similar races with the ms6 they own.

modern racer also recieved a ms6 with intermittent response issues coming from the ecu which was a factory recall so again, get some straight facts before you attempt to sound smart.

just to reference what i wanted to say:

http://www.dragtimes.com/Mazda-6-Timeslip-8029.html - 13.77 stock
http://www.mazda3forums.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=4930&fullsize=1 he was car #100. 13.77/14.05 the 14.05 was after he had done 6 runs and had heat soak issues.

if you want more proof showing them running in the 13.7 range i'll get more.

Look i'm glad you like your mazda but thats no reason to come into my thread bashing my choice. like i said i like the looks and some of the features of the Mazda but i didn't care for the mileage ratings or possible issues down the road.

all i said was picking at you for buying a mommy mobile. you want to shoot back performance specs get them right. not to mention i don't know what road & track mag that was from as i just spent 15 minutes searching their site and couldn't find anything stating their 1/4mile or 0-60 speed. the 3 reviews i've read on the SE v6 was a 0-60 in 6.8 and a 1/4 at 15.0-15.1. I was mostly picking but if you want to shoot back **** that is ignorant sounding them i'll argue with you until i'm proven wrong.

I looked at the 6, se camry and the altima.. I liked the altima the most.. The camry and 6 were nice but the altimas just seemed a little classier than the 6 and sportier than the camry

yeah the 6 is a good car for the price. altima's are good cars to just seem small to me. i don't fit well in them.

i couldn't find the scanned page of the article but here's the info....
So, the May issue of Road & Track, page 81, lists the following specs:

The performance numbers are out for 2007 Camry SE V6, 6AT.
1/4 mile: [email protected] mph (5/06 R&T test 61F, 350ft)

There is another vehicle test in the same issue, Passat 3.6, 6AT
1/4 mile: [email protected] mph (5/06 R&T test 94F, 350ft)

They are faster than '04 TL with 6MT
1/4 mile: [email protected] mph (4/04 R&T test 88F, 150ft)

and '04 Accord coupe EX-V6.
1/4 mile: [email protected] mph (3/04 R&T test)

The surprising thing about it is it is Camry was actually quietest at constant 70mph.
TL is at 70dBA, EX-V6 coupe at 71dBA, Passat is at 72dBA, while the Camry was 68dBA.

AND comparing handling of the SE to a coupe:

The '07 Camry SE V6 with 215/55-17 Toyo Proxes J33 did 0.83g and 63.6mph

The '04 EX-V6 Coupe with 215/50-17 Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 M+S did 0.81g and 63.9mph

I wish i had an etra 4-5 grand or so, cuz i would of wanted one of those 3 before the 07 civic si i've been looking at..
