My fiance's dad's b-day is in like 3 weeks and I've been lazy on his couch watching movies all day and i noticed that he needs more bass. before you give me **** or wonder why i'm laying on his couch everyday for the past 3 weeks, it's b/c i can't work and my fiance works for her parents. I am thinking I'll get him a new h/t sub for his b-day just not sure what to get him. i know i got my jbl sub and love it but i bought it on accomodation pricing and it was cheap as hell that way. any help is appreciated.

When in doubt DIY, or at least buy from PE

Of course that JBL would be decent for 160+ ship

For $160, I doubt it.
Considering a decent plate amp will run in the neighborhood of $75-$100, plus the cost of wood and of course the driver...you're not going to be able to DIY much better :)

my car accident i had on june 20th. i can't walk or really do much of anything. no weight barring for 8-10 weeks and i most likely won't be 100% full weight through the year at worst.

the same accident my friend. the injury was a dislocation fracture and my foot was angled out 38 degrees lol. basically in the x-ray there is about a 1.5" gap where my big toe and 1st toe should be but they aren't. i'm going to get x-ray's for here so i can show peeps as everybody thinks i'm just a ***** and a wimp.

How's he's suppose to know your limit or what you consider cheap? Maybe I'm just too tired, but I don't see a budget listed ;). Cheap to one is not always cheap to another ;).
If you're still looking maybe a used plate amp+atlas 15? Can be had for under $200.

I was waiting for someone to post an svs link ;). I've heard many great things about svs subs and I'm wanting to buy one for my home setup. The PB12–NSD/2 just has so many good reviews going for it. I want one now!!!!
what 2kchevy said...
or if you want to spend less, the entry-level PB10-NSD is $429+s/h
http://www.svsound.com
but it doesn't have entry-level performance. it rumbles all the way down to 20hz. it'll destroy anything anywhere near its price range :naughty:
cek out http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=113 for reviews and comments on any of the SVS subs...it's the most read audio board i believe on the net
