3" Port Cuts

Im building a ported sub box and im not sure how big of a cut i should make....im getting 3" ports made out of PVC piping....how big should i cut a hole for the ports???just 3" or larger for the piping to fit??

well seeing how I am from Oklahoma, I would use some southern engineering in this case...I would cut a 3 inch hole and see how it goes from there, if it's too small either sand, file, or cut the hole slightly bigger until the pvc fits in pretty secure.
