Slot vent dimensions

Alright, you guys confuse me with all of the math, so I'll just ask outright.

I'm gonna build another box, but for a 10" this time. I'll have 1.6 cu.ft. of space, and it'll be 12" Tall (inside dimension)

Qts .25
Qms 5.29
Qes .27
Vas 2.32 (cu ft)
Xmax 1.14"

My question is what would the width and length be for the vent tuned to 42Hz?

I've had an online calc state over 5 inches of width :crap:

so the box is 1.6 after displacements or what? and the port is going to be 12" tall?

Yeah... 1.6 after...... I can work out the interior space better once I can obtain the vent length and width with the 12" height.

you can make the port 12" tall 2" wide and about 19" long

or you can do 1.75" wide and make it 16" long

Basic n00b ??, but why is the slot wider as it gets longer? Makes no sense...... (me = n00b)

the more port area you have in a box, the longer the port is gonna have to be to get your tuning
