Box looks good, but man do I hate seeing an amp mounted to a box... Although I admit I've done it myself...

lol i figured if i was going big...i may aswell go even bigger. payed the same price if not less then 1/0. its 2/0:)

uhh i do not know actually haha:crap: when i set the gain correctly(its at miniumum right now) it will probably giving the sub in the range of 1300-1500

i dont exactly get what you mean...are you talking about the front piece? around the port?

thanks. it has not been a problem yet since their weight keeps them from moving...but i am building the "beauty panel" now so i will strap them down somehow:)

The wires are killing the install, I suggest you mount it on the top of back to clean up the install. The port should also be painted black, but it's a very solid box.

mikey060
07-24-2006, 07:07 PM
hah yea im painted the port black as soon as i get of the computer...along with making a cover panel sp you wont see any wires. i just wanted to put it in so i could bump on my way to work today...looks werent important lol

definatly not by that dude from lethbridge/medi hat. nothing but **** work from that guy. gosh. i would go to the pawn shop and buy a prefab made of 1/2 plywood put together with scotch tape before i let that guy make me a box

Nice, but I would have put the sub farther from the port opening.

jimmyslide
07-26-2006, 07:43 AM
How do you mean further from the port opening? You mean to put it where the amp is and put the amp where the sub is? If so, it is actually quite efficient how it is with the sub boing right at the port opening. Much better for spl purposes :) And doesn't affect SQ at all...

how does it sound? x2 on the huge wires lol.

mikey060
07-26-2006, 11:51 PM
haha i love my wires

it sounds great...hella loud for a single 12 and only 800 watts. im still in the take it easy stage lol(gain right down).... but it will soon get the power it needs and wants. 1500 or so

i do however get a little port noise but that problem should be fixed soon. otherwise it is awesome

will be starting the beauty cover, port painting, etc next week. i will post many pics

I've always been told it's best to keep the sub as far away from the port as possible. I've noticed that many people also build their boxes that way.

jimmyslide
08-05-2006, 02:30 AM
Who told you that? Not true in all cases. Like I said before, I found my boxes to be much more efficient when the sub it put by the port wall opening like Mike did.

To each his own :)

did you notice a big loss by putting that front face on the box and sealing it from the front

mikey060
09-14-2006, 09:53 PM
nope, there is clearance on the top, and the panel is a good inch and a quarter infront of the box so there is plenty of airflow.
