Are those based off of any particular driver, or a custom design for Brax?

^^^ my question exactly. Who's the OEM on those? Also are those new...I thought I saw them on AF's website a while ago.

they have been doing drivers for awhile...Mic Wallace had the graphic pros in his car alst year and was some of the best midbass I've heard to date....

Autotech Fischer was doing home audio way before car audio...and allot of their designs stems from that

Wow; 2500$/mo for a mortgage? jersey must be sick-expensive, or you're living like bill gates... 3 acres w/ a 4 bedroom house mortgage payment ~600/mo here in N. FL. I can't imagine spending 4 mortgage payments for a set of speakers..but i've never heard them either ;)

NJ is quite expensive. Its not a "get what you pay for area" Its more along the lines of pay alot-get a little..

I was looking at those on their site the other day. That tweeter looks like it weighs about twelve pounds. Nice looking gear, man!

Is this it here? The creme of the crop that money can buy for components? I've never understood the fascination with Brax besides the price. Although I'm biased towards German technology as well but there's got to be some justification for their price range.

Any chance they provide some response curves for that component set? I'd love to see what it is exactly that makes em worth the 2500 :D

i don't have the equipment to do that...these aren't the only pair of speakers over 2500....there is plenty of them

Yes, i know there are tons of high end extremely expensive speakers :) I'd love to see response curves of the rainbow reference line too... too bad they don't provide that stuff (i didn't expect you to be able to make one :D)...i'd have thought they'd have tons of documentation, to justify the cost to prospective buyers.

A FR curve isn't going to tell you why they are worth $2500. For one, the frequency response is going to be dramatically altered once they're in the vehicle. Likewise, you can EQ the response anyways.....so imperfections in FR aren't big deal (unless they're from severe break-up nodes). Spectral decay plots and distortion analysis would be better.....but in the end, it's all about what the ear hears and not what's on a piece of paper.

About the only way you'll ever find out why a speaker set costs over $2.5k is by listening to them in a proper installation.
