rattleing for teh win!!!!

esplain why the sub can't face the back again? don't be afraid to unbolt some parts in the car to fit the box in if thats an issue.

Its going to rattle a lot more. Can you make a slanted box?

put the front of the box where the sub mounts on a angle it will allow the mounting face to be longer.

that'd work better, reduce rattle, but he's still gonna have to reinforce the trunk lid, and possibly get a better lock depending on how close the sub is to the trunk lid....but i've seen trunks pop from subs being faced towards the back as well....LOL

Look up 3 posts before this one and you will see.

Port it on the side

You figure the angle with a little trig. Port, same as usual. You could make it fire up, I was just suggesting slanted if you were capable of building one. It will require more work in the box building stage, but wont rattle the trunk lid and deck as much in theory.

or you could use areo's on top or side also you can put the slot port on top if you dont use areos.

more like this, and you'll be straight, lil bit of effort may be required, but port back, sub angled would be louder than port coming out the side...trust me on that one.

I dont quite understand that drawing. Just a port on the slant on the same plane as the sub will work fine.

Dont let tcab hear that.(Like i care lol)
He ports most his boxs up or to the side.

its one of those ports thats harder to explain, and would be easier to show if i made a model, i've built a few box's like this in the past, they sounded better, and got louder for some odd reason, than the port on the plane with the sub, or on the side.

Only testing would provide that answer, as it changes from car to car. I dont think there would be any noticeable differences though, to the ear that is.

wow, it looks complicated these graph.... im not an expert builder, just want something simple! rectangular box is the best thing for me for now:rolleyes: :)

not like its gonna break your arm to learn how to use that lil angle leever on the side of your saw, start off by using cheaper wood or scraps of wood if you can for building while you learn, thats the best advice i can give ya, but slanted is the way to go, your still gonna have to do some massive reinforcement on the trunk lid though otherwise, all you'll hear for 3 blocks instead of bass is trunk rattle, and where i'm from, people laugh at that ;)

i think you should find a friend or neighbor that has a welding machine, and weld up some supports on your trunk, nothing major, just a few 1/2" bars or 1/4" bars in a criss cross pattern for extra support....just my opinion though.
