Ya, I was just wondering what it would be tuned to if i made it 28 or 29" or if someone can link me to a program where I can put in the dimensions and it show me

4.5 ft^3 @ 33.4 Hz
4.75 ft^3 @ 32.5 Hz
5.0 ft^3 @ 31.66Hz

thank you so much, how did you calculate that out though?
07-08-2006, 08:21 PM
i did the volume calculation in an excel file i have that is setup to work with the moe lester box plans (but you should be able to do it by hand if you have a very basic understanding of math :) )
i then plugged that and the port dimensions into WinISD

Could you post up the excel file or send it to firstname.lastname@example.org please!!

sent to your e-mail

want to send it to my email too ?? email@example.com

I forwarded to your email and everybody else that wants it can download it here.
Download Box Calculator Via Xluben (http://www.jakobmetzger.com/misc/BoxCalculatorViaXluben.xls)
Below is straight from Xluben's email he sent me....
here's the excel file i made. the top part is if you have round ports, the bottom part is for one slot port on the side of the box (like moe lester designs). you should be able to figure all of this out by hand pretty easily though. once you get the final box volume, enter that and the port dimensions into winisd (you can make a project with any driver), and it will tell you the tuning.
hope that helps,

well, i hope that file helps everyone out. it has gone through a few revisions depending on the style of the box i was thinking of.
just make sure you use the round port calculator for round ports and the slot port calculator for slot ports. also, the slot port calculator is only set up for one port on the side of the box.

ok, im confused with this. Is this how its supposed to look? Did I input everything right for a 29" box?
Ok, what if I wanted it to be 29" wide and only 23" for the depth.

first off, the height of the port should be 15.5" (I had the cell referenced, you must have deleted it).
and unless you add a corner to the port it won't be that long.
without adding a bend to the port (one straight wall, stopping 4" short of the back wall), i get:
4.14 ft^3 @ 36.33 Hz
you need to learn how to use WinISD :)
