ok, so i just took out my old box and destroyed it, haha, and i was wondering what the person who built it had it tuned to. the deminsions on the box are 32" w x 28" d x 16" h, and the deminsions of the slot port are 4" w x 14" h x 14.5" long. thanks for the help!

6.17 ft^3 @ 34.32 Hz is what I come up with.

That's assuming 0.75" MDF, port along the side and 0.1 ft^3 driver displacement.

I suggest getting WinISD and learning how to use it. It's pretty interesting to play with when designing a box.

and what Hz would be a good suggestion for the L7 15's? is 34 good, or would there be a better one to tune to for a higher SPL?

that would be 33hz...with out sub or port displacement.....34hz with port displacement and...right about 34.5-35hz with subdisplacement.

fyi: the sub does not matter when tuning a box...only the displacement it will take up does.

haha, at least our number agree :)

if you want straight SPL use you can definitely get louder by tuning quite a bit higher (40+ Hz), but it won't sound nearly as good for daily use (lose low end extension, peaked response).
