Why 4"? You will seriously be lacking some midbass.

yea Im stuck with 4s in the front and I dont have like any midbass up there....but then again my sub is probably just overpowering all of it so I might not be able to hear it....seemed like last time I turned the sub off tho that the fronts just seemed high pitched and annoying compared to the 6x9s in the back that were actually putting out some decent midbass

You are going to want the most xmax you can get to even get a hint of midbass... if it's in your budget, the only thing I can think of is MTX TXC4.1 - If they are really on the market yet (they are listed in the MTX catalog).

They have as much throw as most 5.25" speakers.

On second thought, you might still be disappointed with the best 4" drivers... i would seriously consider bigger components custom installed in the kick panels, or second choice, the doors. Most people will tell you that even 5.25" speakers don't have enough mid-bass.

i would say if you can fit 6.5 in the doors, but if you can i'd get a 4in component set like the HD-42 or CL-41. They will give you some good mids and highs, midbass will be lacking due to design. If you are up to it make a 6.5 fit in the doors and then get a Hybrid Audio Legatia L3 in the kicks.

Well, I have to get the ones from this site.

My dad is helping me out on some cash with this, and he wants to do it from cartoys to get it installed for free.

So im just going to humor him, and do what he wants, and when the car is actually mine, in like 4 months, then ill have freedome to do whatever with it.

but for now, something from that list please. any 4'' off that site :D

Worst car for bass and speakers.
Stupid dash mount speakers and gas tank in the trunk.
You are stuck with the 4" sadly....

07-03-2006, 05:43 AM
um... are you sure?

because i have a huge open trunk. although the spare tire is underneith a plasic cover in it. but still its a huge trunk. i can give you some pics if you want.

07-03-2006, 05:46 AM
ya, i know someone who has a 2door, gas tank is in the trunk.
Take out the first aid kit and it will help a bit.
The trunk is pretty big

07-03-2006, 05:48 AM
lol were talkin about two diff cars. i have the 4 door coupe

07-03-2006, 05:52 AM
Ever pull down that back panel...should have a gas tank there.
All the older MBz's that ive seen have the gas tank in the trunk

07-03-2006, 05:55 AM
oh really? well ****, ill check that out tomorrow

thanks for the heads up.

well that considered, what do i need for my speakers, because you said its the worse car for sound (more or elss what you said)

also, go to my sub thread, and reccomend what subs would sound good in the trunk.

Thanks alot for your help so far :D

4" speakers just have no midbass.
So you will be lacking in that department.

07-03-2006, 06:32 AM
yeah, and that ***** majorly. but my computer speakers are even smaller, and i can deal with them. oh well.... maybe i can work something out

07-03-2006, 06:34 AM
Kick pods would be the best for that car but thats quite a bit of work for someone who just got into car audio

07-03-2006, 06:35 AM
assuming someone helps, i could (hopefully) figure it out.
