I have to have some screw heads showing when I build my box...I was wondering if someone makes some "screw caps" like some kind of cap that snaps onto the head of the screw to make it look better...pretty much anything will look better than the screw head...if this isn't clear enough just say so and I will try to explain more.....

did you countersink the screws?

depends on what kind of screws you are using. if you are using drywall screws i doubt they make such a thing.
are the screws sticking out of box a little bit? if so consider counter sinking them so they fit flush witht he box.

i know how to coutersink but I'm using this is for my plexiglass project, the front panel of the box will be made of plexi and I'm nervous about countersinking them beause I'm afraid it will crack........I'm having the guy that is selling me the plexiglass fabricate it for me....I could see if he will counter sink them for me...

no caps.... if it was wood u can use wood filler and it would hide it....

what would look cool since your going for looks with the plexiglass bolts holding hte plexi on

yeah but the purpose of these screws is for them to go into the MDF and hold the plexi to it....I wouldn't be able to use bolts for that...

in your situation would it be possible to use an adhesive rather than screws?

Well it's a plexiglass front, I was going to use adhesive and screws. Might be too risky to JUST use an adhesive...it worries me :crap:

sweet man thanks.

anyone have any ideas on what to cover the edge of the plexi with? I don't want to be able to see the adhesive/MDF behind it on the outer 3/4" of the plexi....I was thinking just some nice black tape across it, then put the screws through

yea just go buy some nice SS or brass screws and paints the mdf black and inside white or mirror and should look pretty nice

edit saw u want to hide the outer 3/4 or so. just get some thin sheet metal strips 3/4 wide and drill holes and paint them too, miter the corners for a better look also

just make a trim pice for it with some hard board.

If you have a hole puncher you can use the little circles from it to cover up the screw heads.

thats a good idea but the board would have to be very thin....I would have to put the screws thru it and I dont want it sticking out really far from the plexi
