well, before you start modding, you need to have the end goal in mind

for example, EVERY upgrade part has a tradeoff... your factory parts are the best mix of both.... that's why they're there.

you have to know if you're looking to gain high end hp at the expense of driveability and torque, or if you want torque, at the expense of high end hp....

and secondly, you need hp goals..

for instance, if you want to go 200+hp, you're not gonna get there naturally aspirated, which would rule out buying a header or an intake or software now, because you're gonna need to replace them anyways...

in fact, if you were gonna do a turbo or a supercharger at some point, there's not a whole lot you can do that wont need to be replaced, and used car parts are worth right around 0% of what they are new.....

Not trying to intimidate you, but if you don't have some goals in mind, you're gonna waste a lot of time, and money.

And chances are, if you do nitrous on a stock engine, there wont be much left to turbocharge, if that's one of your goals.

you could possibly choose what range of engine speed you're ultimately going to try and max out, and get yourself a cam, or a customized intake manifold (not an "intake" an actual manifold, short runner for high end, long tube runners for low end, etc.) those would be my two picks if you're serious about going turbo later on.

Either that, or suspension, breaks, a differential.... All things you can do now, and wont need to be changed again once you go turbo, so long as you buy good enough parts to perform correctly with your ultimate hp goals.... Remember, 300hp's worthless if you can't turn, stop, or get the power to the ground (unless you're gonna drop big $ just to do donuts like some retards do) lightweight wheels and nice rubbers are an ok upgrade, but are likely gonna need replaced by the time you're ready to step up to the big leagues..

if youre going to do turbo then start doing motor work like resleeve it, new pistons, new cams, headwork, etc. no reason to spend money only to throw it out when you turbo the car. though things like new pistons and resleeving wont get you a whole bunch of power now, you will be able to more than double the pressure and get a much better outcome when you do turbo.

forgot to mention i have neuspeed suspension. its stiff as hell. i dont need any more than 250 hp.

well then, find out what the turbo kit comes with, and how mch $$ it is.... :)

turbo's are kind of an alternative to 'conventional' mods....

it's a whole 'b-list' of mods, none of which really give you any gains without the turbo

mostly just to keep your engine, breaks, and transmission from biting it under boost

you could find out what diameter downpipe the turbo comes with, and get a new exhaust from the downpipe back, with a test pipe, of course :)

ill be putting together a kit, not buying a kit already made

it's all you, then

you'll wanna do engine internals last, tho, otherwise you're gonna have to open it back up to change your headgasket. n/a cars run like *** with low compression

if youre only looking to have 250hp then dont bother with a turbo. just do basic things like exhaust, header, cai, cams and then get it tuned or buy a unit like hondata makes and do the tuning yourself. or just do a swap and you will have 220hp instantly for way less then 2grand.

wouldnt a turbo be cheaper. ill be buying all used parts most likely.

turbo would definently be way more expensive if you actually do it right. now if youre just gonna half *** it then sure it will be cheaper but you will be sacrificing reliability.

This is kinda a dumb one, seeing as I'm not sure what they have in newer engines, but if it has a mechanical water pump, get an electric pump. It can give your engine somewhere around 10-12hp and it cools your engine alot better.

Just do a motor swap if you are only looking for 250 HP IMO.

k-series motors are nice but on the pricey side

not sure if anyone realizes but the less expensive b-series swaps, say a b16a, trying to get 250hp n/a takes a shitload of work

you need to research more, you're looking for simple answers to everything and it sounds like you've never worked on a car before, if nothing else you give that impression just by saying headers, or the fact that you have neuspeed suspension although i'd be willing to bet cash you just have springs
