Thanks to someone who THOUGHT they knew what they were doing. My box turned into this disaster

Lookin better, but why did you cover the holes? Were you too lazy to pull out the subs?

looks like they were bondo'd or somehow other attached to the box

The Subs were put in with Torx screws and I stripped the driver working on another project. So I said F u<k it and covered them up

You really need to take the subs out and go from there. Get some Bondo and a lot of time and several different grits for your sander. Take that bondo and smear it across with a small spatula to fill in the valleys....then sand and do it again.....and so on, it should eventually feel like a dinner plate.......without the food on it
