Personnaly I used a set of coax off small power (deck power) while my fronts weere amped. Couldn't tell if they wer eon or off in the front but made it nice for the rear passengers.

From anything i have seenor read components in the rear will throw off the image of the stereo.

alright..... well i i dont want it to throw anything off... so i think some coaxials in the back will do... does anyone know pros/cons to alpine type r's?? sorry for all the questions... but i just got my tax return back and time to spen ;)

I am not a big fan of the typr R coaxials. Kicker on the other hand makes very decent ones. Eclipse and polk are decent too.

about 1000 for speakers and amp

about 1000 for speakers and amp

So you need componets for the front, coaxils for the rear and an amp to drive them all?

Sounds like you will have a nice setup and some money left over :)

i've had polk components before, great for the money i paid at the time, really got better after it was amped.

i just got some rainbow slc's, heard they were the best for the money now, i'll let you know how they sound but search em, and if you like what you read pm 6spdcoupe, he's got the connect

Type r's arent that good at all from what I have read on here. Seems like you could probably install these yourself too and save some money.

well what does installing speakers intail???? i am not super handy with electrical stuff... but if it isnt that hard like crimping 2 wires together then i can handle that... so focal is worth the 175 installed or garbage????

Yeah you could, for 300-400 you could pick up a good rainbow model. The Germaniums are quite good for the money http://car.rainbow-audio.de/products/introduction.php?lan=2&pro=1&lin=17. And you would need some sound deadening. Do you plan on deadening your car yourself? Installing speakers isnt that complicated, unless you have to make a baffle or some **** like that. As long as you can run wires and screw in screws you're set.

I woudl worry about using an amp on the fronts and running the rear fill just off the deck power. Gives you a better power choice for the money with a 2 channel.

There is no reason why with $1000 you couldn't get speakers, amp and some sound deadening depending on what you decide to go with for speakers.

for coax check into the crystal coax SSX sets. very cheap for the money and not a true coax as the tweeter is mounted on a bridge over the woofer. Here is an ebay deal http://cgi.ebay.com/Crystal-6-5-2-Way-Component-Speakers-150W-SSX615_W0QQitemZ5881443670QQihZ008QQcategoryZ32819 QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

oh i guess i better tell you that i dont want to build a baffle or a kickpanel i just want to mounth them in the stock spots... in the front i have a 5.25 and in the rear i have 5.25 in the back.... what would putting some components in that back do to the sound????

The back is mainly to fill in the sound, to put some components in, you would have to cut some of your interior to make a spot to mount the rear tweeter. Also, if you wanted to save some money, I have always liked the high end Infinity components. They sound nice, they are not as power hungry as others and can be had for 150-199 usually. Also, they now make 2ohm models so you can get the most from a amp. If I was working with 1000 I would get a XX-Juputer (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3029.html)(Hifonics) for 330, a set of Infinity Coax (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_4297.html) for the rear for 99.00, and a set of Infinity components (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_4294.html)for the front for 169.00. So that totals about 600. Add shipping and tax its about 700 (Max) Take the rest and get a high quality install kit, and a bunch of sound deadener and your car would sound ****.
