I have an extra amp laying around which is a MTX Thunder 502 which is rated at:
125 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
250 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms
500 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms bridged

Would I be able to hook a set of rainbow SLC 6.5" or SLC Kicks to that amp? Also what is the diff between the regular and kicks, and how much do each of those go for around? I saw ~230 shipped for the SLC but nothing on the kick?

Thanks

Kick version you are looking an additional 40 dollars. Is it worth it? Midbass performance is pretty sick IMO- its engineered to excel in a door, in the 80-220hz as far as kick bass goes. It can easily match or beat performance of some larger drivers.

What about that amp? Will 125 watts @ 4 ohm be ok for each speaker?

Don is going to be having a group buy on them for $220 shipped. I think you should get in on it. They are amazing speakers!

They should sound incredible. I think we are going with an eclipse amp or possibly arc audio.

Yes theyre all newer models, directly from Germany.

Yea, you could say theres a bit of a difference. :)

Most of the others..Germaniums,Profi,ProfiVanadium,etc..

Although bang for the buck, SLCs are a great choice.

Yes,

I own a set of the three way setup. I have finally got them all installed, just not hooked up to the amp. That day shall be monday.

I would not reccomend three way without extensive fabrication and installation knowledge. If I knew it would be this hard, I wouldn't have done it. But now that I have I would do it again (I hope that makes sense).

I'm not sure if the group purchase is still on, but I would definitely be interested in a set of SLC 265s.
