Im guessing its going to be a sealed box, what is the space in the middle for?

05-02-2006, 09:28 PM
its goin to be sealed for 2 12" type r's and the space in the middle is for 2 alpine mrd-m605 amps. im goin to build kind of a shelf thingy for them. i have a set of hinges for the top shelf so i can get to the lower one

05-02-2006, 10:21 PM
Thats a sweet first built, you must have some prior wood working experince

05-02-2006, 10:46 PM
i have done a few things before but nothin like this. i designed this box by my self and have have done everything my self. my girlfriend is goin out of town for like half a week so ill have time to finish it this weekend hopefully

05-04-2006, 11:17 PM
i might do one some time down the road but who knows. im goin to try and finish this one tomorrow and wrap in carpet this weekend.

05-04-2006, 11:32 PM
Better work that one of the so called "builders" on this forum ;) You should go into business right after your first box, like her!

05-04-2006, 11:32 PM
But seriously, good work.

05-04-2006, 11:37 PM
i have a friend i might build a box for, but he isnt sure if he is goin to put a sub in his car or not yet tho

05-05-2006, 12:41 AM
good work, keep at it. things'll only get better

05-05-2006, 10:45 PM
i just ordered my amps so ill will have everything by next weekend.

also this might surprise some of you but every cut i did was with a skil saw, nothing else

05-06-2006, 09:13 PM
i have everything done now except for the top shelf in the middle which im goin to out in after i carpet it. i caulked the inside of the box and out side of the piece the sub mounts to. i was goin to carpet it today but my dad made me wash my mom's suv

i put one of the subs in for a sec to see wut it would look like

it came out really nice. Great job in the carpet... it must've been a biotch to carpet that. I just did my first carpet job yesterday on a regular rectangular box and you box looks like it would be difficult to carpet.

05-09-2006, 09:21 PM
it was challenging but i prob could have done better

i feel the same way about mine.

I would to see some pics on your amps/subs mounted on that thing.

VERY nice work, especially for a 1st box. You could have a future in fabrication. Find you a good shop to get in with, or just post this kinda stuff on the intraweb.

05-09-2006, 09:33 PM
i have the subs sitten right nest to me but my amps wont be here for a few more days. hopefully ill have everything in by this weekend and ill post some pics and maybe a video. also thx for the comments, and im also goin to start buildin boxes for ppl, not too good at the designin part yet but gettin better so let me know

05-10-2006, 09:57 PM
Nice work man. My first box ****** compared to that. So did my 2nd one... and I haven't built my 3rd yet LOL

I have to cut with a circular saw tho... This next one I'm gonna try to get access to a table saw.

05-11-2006, 12:11 AM
really good kob on carpeting, it took me a few times to get it down good.

05-11-2006, 12:16 AM

05-11-2006, 11:54 PM
i go the subs in it today but i still havent got the amps yet, they sould be here tomorrow or saturday. if they come tomorrow i think i can finish the install, but i have prom on saturday so we'll have to see how things go
