would this chip work in my audi b5 a4 1.8T its an automatic w/triptronic pretty much the same engine thats listed here only diffrence is passat and audi

or would a 2001 gti 1.8t chip work???

The chip has to be for the specific ecu part # in your car, you didn't say what year your car is, but in 2000 alone, B5 a4's with 1.8t's had 4 different ecu configurations. Your ecu has to be opened, the factory chip un-soldered and removed, the new chip soldered in, and then the chip and ecu has to have your original immobilizer code flashed onto it or your car wont start.

You're probably better off buying used condoms than a used chip.

If you buy the chip from garett, you get free install, free warranty, and i'm not 100% sure, but at one time you even got free upgrades. There's also a bunch more companies that make chip tuning if you don't want to fork out the big $$$ for garett, but they definitely know what they're doing.
