one thing i never understood... if you build the box in the trunk, how do you get screws on the top?

i like ur sig and what u have done to the vehicle should be a nice souding system, i mouned my 2500d on the back of my box and the other on top, i had a little room

dkguitarist

use some kind of glue and caulk...can also screw down the back half..

The box will fit in there with the top on just never put it on yet. U can use a little screw driver that has a 90 degree end.
Waiting for the MT to cut the hole and put the tnuts on the back. dont know the hole pattern or the cut out hole size for the sub.
The box still needs some bracing. (using thread rod.)

Have to find some somewhere to mount my other amp and xbox now. and finish building around the amp to hide the power and ground wire.
I dont want to see a single wire.

Very nice my brother. You could always stack the amps one on top of the other. Looks like you have plenty of room on the rack there. :)

dkguitarist
04-26-2006, 03:03 PM
looks real nice. and as ramos said, just "stack" them if you have the room.

2loud4u
04-26-2006, 03:03 PM
well I dont really have the room cause when the seats fold up the amp is like 1 inch away from the back of the seat so putting the other one on there wont work.

If I lay the amp down flat and put the other on top it will put my box too close to the back of the trunk and the sub might hit it.

Got my brain running though I will find a spot for it :)

Dam neon trunks LOL.

Think my other amp found a home.

When I get it mounted if I dont like it there It will have to go on top of the box.
But I think it will be fine there. what do you think?

Got something in the mail today and is next on my list of to do.

300amp's should keep my amps very happy.
150amps at idle and 300 at 2000rpms.

Now the hard part comes into play.
Stuff this monster in a neon :)

crossovers for mids and tweets installed them in the glove box. (have to trim the velcro but other then that I think it's neat in there. hidden.
along with amp rack covered.
Used black cause I am redoing the whole trunk black cause i want it really dark in there cause I am using some uv stuff and darker the better.
Anyways let me know what you think.

i think you should face it forward and watch how much you like it better

mazdakid
05-07-2006, 05:58 PM
we tried it both ways in my friends 02 neon and facing the sub forward with just blankets sealing off the trunk got alot louder and less rattles. low bass sounds better now too

2loud4u
05-07-2006, 06:07 PM
I will try it forward If it dont work out this way.
I have tried my buddys 2 10's and it did not sound as good forward as it did back.
Also might fire them up towards the trunk.

had less rattles for sure but not as loud or sound as good.
I know every sub and car is different but it is trial and error.

Everything Will be done this week cant wait.
