View Full Version : Throw away my box or keep it?

Ehh Ive been looking at the box today and I am really not happy at all with the finished results. I screwed it up by making the ports too high and touching the subs magents. So we had to stack up 5 extra baffles to clear any touch from ports to magnets!! I think it looks really really ugly! I am not pleased with the results. I have yet to hear the box but I am sure it will be loud but im not sure if I should keep such an ugly box...What do you guys think?

What a fukking retard.

You should have lined them all along the bottom of the box... it's slightly louder that way anyways...

i say throw it away start from scratch keep the same enclosure CF and ports just lay them down at the bottom. that will allow you to sit the subs on the top baffle.

Pur some gasoline on it as it sits in the truck and burn it.

take off the extra baffles and redo the one side with the ports. line them on the bottom so they dont hit the sub.

this is from the linked thread

braces look next to worthless.
x 1000000
there is not near enough braceing for a box of that size.

yeah do that instead just be careful not to rip the side top and bottom panels. take the stack of baffles you have on top as well. then place the sub on top of the first baffle, measure if you have enough room for all the ports at the bottom. then make the new baffle for the port. remember always measure and take all the components that go in the enclosure in consideration before you build the box.

if you use a 3d software like scketchup you wouldn't have had this problem,

Because I know nothing about box construction :D

No, that BP was never built, I designed it for the sole purpose of my AV. I got tired of looking at some white chick's eyeball.

Id invert the ports or subs. Either would solve the problem, but inverting the ports would work better.
