Well im going at building another box for my truck, its going to be sealed this time. I have 2 jl W0's I did the math out for one in a sealed box. It calls for like 2.3 Ft^3. In the JL manual they say to use 1.5^3. I rather stick with the 1.5 but what do you guys think is better?

The company made the the subs, so I bet they know whats the best for them.

if youre giving them rated power, id stick with 1.5^3' per..

il probably end up giving them a little more than the 150 rated, probably like 200-250 or so

then go smaller..definately not larger.

as box size increases, the subs power handling decreases.

So go smaller than the 1.5ft^3 they gave me or the 2.29 from my calcs?

If you're going to feed them more than rated power go smaller than JL's recommended 1.5ft^3 :)

So heres my box design. Sorry if im being a pain I just dont want to **** it up this time. The red area is dead space. I need the outside dimensions of the box to be the size they are. So to remove airspace i decided to just build out cubes. Its 3Ft^3.

seperate the 2 subs...dont put them in a common chamber in that config...and id honestly try to stray away from pointing the subs in different directions.

What will pointing the subs in diffrent directions do? Will it really be that bad?

I noticed a big improvement from firing my 2 boston acoustic 12's upward (in sealed boxes) to 1 firing downward (sealed box). Eventually I will add the second, but it sounds only a little less loud but MUCH better firing down in the cab. I dunno how much room you have, but from the looks of your box you could raise the floor and add both subs firing down. Something to think about anyway!
