When I went to go pick up some resin for my first shot at a fiberglass box there was a premixed shorthair/resin tub available.
Is that any good, or should I stick to the longer stuff?

Not sure what you mean. Was it the resin jelly ? I would stick with just plain jane liquid polyester resin. :)
i think that was a type of bodyfiller called "kittyhair" or "tigerhair". its not what you are looking for.
just get a pint\gallon of fiberglass epoxy or polyester resin.

Ditto on the kittyhair
but it may be Milled fibers

Yeah, it was the resin, with the hair already mixed in. You just mixed in the hardener and layed it down.
I think this is it... http://www.bondo-online.com/catalog_item.asp?itemNbr=208
So I should stick with the longhair mat and resin.

Just run to Home Depot pic up some resin for like 30 bucks
Walmart 12sq mat for like 5 bucks or so (its like 1.5oz)
and Evercoat Rage gold for filler.. 24-33ish...

Thanks.
I won't need the filler right? I'm only glassing the box to the floor as it is an odd shape. The top will be wood. Glass not visible in this install.
