Also want to put in a 12 or 15 RE sx, which box would be better and why.

You can't fit a 15" in 1.75ft^3 even 2ft^3 ported. They need 4ft^3.

The difference is the size/tunning/and port area...

ok, so i though about a 12 in that size.
and would the low tuning work well with the sx?

Low tunning would work fine. If this is for a daily driving box, the 2.0ft^3 tuned low would sound very nice :D
