Anyone know what the AVX2 has for preamp outputs? I keep seeing conflicting specs online. Some say 5V in all preouts (front, rear, center, subwoofer) and some save 2.5V in all. Some say 5V for front and rear and 2V for sub output. Can anyone shed some light on this subject?

***TAKEN FROM ACTUAL MANUAL***

Line-Output - 2.5v/20 k ohm load (full scale)
Sub-output - 2.0v/20 k ohm load (full scale)

Hope this helps.

That blows. $650 and all you get is 2V. do they say anything about "before clipping" in the manual?

To be honest, voltage on the preout doesn't really matter much.

The ONLY advantage to pre-out voltage is keeping the gain at a lower setting, POSSIBLY helping noise, but TO MY KNOWLEDGE, there is NO advantage that has been proven!

Impedence on the preout is actually the thing that counts the most.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah mine is on the way from America so should be here and fitted this week. Can't wait! That pre-out thing was bugging me as well. At least it sounds like they wont be a problem though, the old AVX1 had 5v pre-outs so I was a bit worried. Mine worked out at 300 in the end so I wouldn't have been too bothered anyway, bargain.

True....it doesn't matter that much, but after going from a factory radio with a rca converter on it, to the Alpine DVA-9860....my bass is just not hitting as hard. I adjusted the gains and HU controls. Of course all I get is the radio at this point because the "brand new" Alpine I bought was obviously not brand new. Waiting on the JVC to see if it makes a difference.

I got mine in over the weekend. I must say, JVC has done it right this time. Still a little concerned about reliability, but only time will tell. 7 band EQ, crossover galore, easy to navigate through the menus, clean face, excellent SQ, and the clearest little screen I've ever seen. Makes my 7" farenheit screen look not-so-good. If you guys are looking for a single din radio that plays DVD, this unit blows them all away. I had an Alpine DVA-9860 before and it was night and day difference. Put the Alpine to shame to say the least. Cool things like displaying ALL the CD/MP3/WMA on your external screen (name of CD, list of songs), changing the background, dual zone, and quick load times really put this thing over the edge for me. I was very impressed with it all. Some things to note though.....no SD slot as advertised on some sites selling this HU, the sub preout and center channel output are mono. So buy your "Y" adapter for your sub amp ahead of time. The face of this unit is a little bigger than a regular din radio. Not really a big difference, but you can tell (so adjust your dash kit accordingly). This unit also has an "Ebrake" ground like the flipout units so you cant watch movies while you're moving. Just connect that wire with regular ground and you're good to go. Feel free to ask questions guys....this unit is bada$$!!!!!

Took a few yesterday....with my camera phone. Doesn't really do the HU justice, but here's the link. I'll take some with my camera when I get home today.
