I want to sell my Infinity Entra Sub and get either a single 15 or (2) 10's for my HT. Will get around 1000W (most likely at 4ohm)

Any ideas would be appreciated along with pics if you have done HT subs.

Some subs I have looked at: XXX, JBL Power Series and W15GTi, Infinity VQ's, Focal, ID's.

By the sounds of it, you're looking for SQL? What kind of music do you like?

i have a single 10" sealed with 1000 watts on it and it is plenty loud and clean for HT. i think its the best bass setup i have personally owned for my HT. i have gone through lots of them too.

I am mainly rap and techno but thats where my SE comes in handy in my car. :naughty:

This is for my 5.1 setup upstairs. I want it louder than the Infinity I have. The Entra is nice and clean but not deep or loud enough. Movies: war, horror. Games: Dolby Digital: War, RPG, action.

i have the velodyne SPL1000-R, and it just rips for a single 10".

Yeah, I've looked at velodyne but I kinda want to build my own enclosure and stuff you know?

Um...yeah about that...lol. I almost got an XXX15 from PDizzle but my A/C decided to die I couldn't. I don't know how I'd get 7.5cf up my stairs :crap:

How about we go more towards lik 4-5cf?

If you don't already have a sub I would recommend buying a sub that was intended for home use and not car. They are usually optimized for home conditions, lower gain frequency etc. And before a bunch of people get their ******* in a wad, I'm not saying you can't use a car sub I just wouldn't recommend it if you have a choice. I'm using one now and it was a b1tch to get modeled.
I would recommend a 15" Dayton Titanic from Parts Express. There are several DIY projects using this driver floating around so it wouldn't be hard to come up with a design to suit your needs. Also if you use this driver you could get away with using a smaller amp probably 500 or less.

My parents wouldn't let me glue it together upstairs. So yeah...

Any other suggestions on subs?

An AV12 or AV15 from Acoustic Elegance with a few passive radiators and a 1000 watt amp would kick some *** and be fairly easy on the budget

I'll look into those. Thanks. PRoblem: I wouldn't know how many/which model PR's to use. PR > me. :crap:

Do what I did: take a Dayton Titantic 15" w/ 1000w in 7 cubes at 22hz and knock mirrors off the wall and split plaster in the garage below (100% factual) :D

Well that's like $700-800 worth of stuff. I'm kinda hoping to keep it around 400-450. IF I can sell my Infinity Entra powered sub then that Titantic would be alot closer to being able to go through with. ;)

Aw come on, just bite the bullet :D:sneaky: If you pay for it sure. lol I could but it'd take longer than I want. Liek I'd have to buy the sub then build enclosure. Then once I got enough for plate amp then get it. So the sub/encl would just be sitting for awhile. And I can't ask for those things for my bday cuz my '06 Si is my bday present. :D

This is what I was given by someone on carstereos

I have to call AA for port length though.

http://forum.carstereos.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=3034&d=1141873141

I have 2 but only need one, will be putting it up for sale whenever my lazy *** takes a picture of it  Sealed up it gets pretty loud, I'm sure ported +my PE 250 plate amp will be plenty for me.
