im thinking about getting JL VR650-CSi Component System for the front of my car... only problem is i have no idea where the crossovers go.. can anyone tell me where u install them

well it depends on the vehicle.
alot of people place them behind the door panel if they have room.
in my car i placed them behind the kick panels so i dont have to worry about them possibly getting wet.

or mount them in the trunk by your amps.

Mount them anywhere they fit. That simple.


Typically closer to the speakers is better, since then less speaker wire will be needed

gotcha... anyone know what a crossover does or how it works.. im really new to this

Nope nobody knows, it's a kind of magic...

Seriously, it divides the signal between the midrange and the tweeter so the midrange isn't trying to play too high a freq and the tweeter isn't damaged by trying to play too low a freq. Several of us on here have gone into more depth that that on several occassions you should be able to find the thread if you want more info than the basics. I really don't feel like going into a more exhaustive explanation right now.
