Looks like the port after the bend is narrower than the mouth.

May not be tho...is it a consistent width/ distance away from the wall all the way throughout the port?

It is deffinitly going to choke the **** out of those drivers... Not gonna have much low end at all.

That is barely enough space for a single 12, should have gone sealed.

Nice construction though ;)

Actually you can still use both 12" drivers. Just Isobarically load them instead.

Why wouldn't he. It isn't adding any more volume to what she has made. Isobaric loading allows you to use HALF the volume you would use on ONE driver. It also gives great linearity and helps negate any anomolies between 2 drives. The only downfall is it is not as efficient and will be 3db quiter than 2 drivers in their own space with the same power.

Right... But he might not have space to have a driver inverted like that.

And adding a driver inside like that will change her volume and tuning...

if she does do it that way...which i doubt
she has 2 wire each sub out of phase..

Right... But he might not have space to have a driver inverted like that.

And adding a driver inside like that will change her volume and tuning...True. I fugered an inverted would be the best route and would hope he has that much clearance from the baffle.

Not me but a friend back in the day did 2 JL W1s Isobarically loaded into a 6th order bandpass. Was a small thing that made some decent bass. I didn't like the sound of the 6th order though. He probably messed up the calculations. It was sloppy.

me and one of my old friends built one years ago when the jbl gti subs first came out
it was 8 jbl gti subs in a isobaric ported box tuned to 28hz...with 2 zapco 4kw's
once we finish......we plug that thing in the wall for about 30seconds..and the nieghbors called the cops on us
and the cop said he heard it himself and he was about 4 blocks away and we was in a garage the truck wasnt even outside

i wish i had pix.....but if anybody went to the funk flex car show in englishtown nj about 4 yrs ago...and saw a white escalade with a wall of 15(the back of the subs)
and in back...a wall of zapco amps....3 c2k 9.0's and 2 4kw's that was the truck me and my friend did

JL Audio started making them popular in the late 80's with their Blazer with the 8 10W5s that won the IASCA finals 4 (IIRC) years in a row. They used the plate in that install as the prototype for the Isoplates that they marketed for a few years.

Very nice improvement JT. Only thing, which has already been said, box would choke a child to death. :)

Otherwise, very good work.

Many, many times. ;) Use to be the only way to get two subs in that small of an enclosure. New subs are built for tiny boxes most of the time eliminating the need for iso setups. :)

If you wanted multiple subs + small enclosure they were a necessity :)

You said in a post before that it was 15" deep, and at the minimum 30" across and 15" tall. thats closer to 1.5 each...

EDIT

nevermind i thought it was for 2 15".....still looks big tho..

maybe take a sledge hammer and bust out the port walls and plug the port exit., easy conversion from ported to sealed :)

Not bad on the paint, but you need a sealant, and primer before you even think about what type of top coat you'll use. The problem with painting is that is takes quite long to get perfect.
