Active? Or passive?

What's your actual budget?

according to your sig you are looking for a new headunit so just get a headunit with a built in 3-way xover

well i'm hoping to get a p860mp again. great hu. but i'd still need some xovers if i'm getting tweets and these mids right?. also, they're gonna be amped to a 2 channel amp (d5 300.2). i'm not reall sure on difference between active and passive.

well to go active you would need 1 channel of amplification per speaker.
so you would need a 4 channel or another 2 channel to go active with a 2-way comp set.

that deck has a 3-way xover if you get the premier version. active is basicaly where you amp each piece with an amplifier channel, and you set the xover settings. so that headunit would have a low pass for the subs, bandpass for the mids, and high pass for the tweets

yea since you are getting that go buy another small two channel for the tweets and then you can go active.

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=275-030 - despite it's price, it's actually supposed to be a good tweeter. Though, it won't play extremely low.

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=275-130 - if you can fit a large-format tweeter. Plays low and sounds great doing it.

http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?exact_match=yes&product=LP&cart_id=4460045.17940 - the 25NFA or 26NA depending on if you like hard or soft dome

http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?exact_match=yes&product=SET&cart_id=4460045.17940 - Seas has a lot of good, lower priced tweeters. But, again, large format

prolly a dumb-a$$ suggestion, but i got an adire sf7 to stand in for a blown RE component mid. sf7 works ok with the tweet and crossover, and i'm giving it 75w off a mxa6004 amp

he said he had a dumb-a$$ SUGGESTION. (which it really wasn't btw) lol. and yes, i read that review about the sf7 mid in place of the re mid. i was gonna have a trade for a pair of those mids but idk. the guy doesn't kno if he wants/needs the amp. personal reasons. so i might be stuck with 2 amps, no hu, and no comps for now. ugh.
